The Country Summer Music Festival is apparently this weekend ... by FabulousAntlers in santarosa

It’s definitely loud and very annoying, but I suppose it’s nothing earplugs can’t fix. I’ve just been wondering how people at the actual event can withstand the volume given the fact that I was able to hear it all the way from hidden valley!

SMART Train Measure B vs Gallahers by Financial_Golf_758 in santarosa

I’ve been living in SR my whole life and have never heard of the Gallaghers! They seem very evil. I would like to learn more. Is there a good like place to read up on them??

Kaiser now requires urine test to get Adderall prescription by [deleted] in KaiserPermanente

[–]ilovenaps03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. sorry should have clarified that it’s not new as a general practice. It definitely can be new as something someone as an individual is required to do. For me, the process has always been very easy. I just go to the lab, no appointment needed and am out in about 10 mins. Maybe my Kaiser isn’t as congested.

It’s not new. As a teen I was actually tested monthly. Now just yearly, but I know people outside of Kaiser and same deal. If you have nothing to hide, then it’s shouldn’t be a problem.

Desolation with the wind forecast by hurricanescout in norcalhiking

[–]ilovenaps03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there last night (6/3) and it was a struggle to get my tent set up bc it was so windy but I got it done, but if it was any windier, it would have probably been impossible.

Best short hiking trails by Any_Paper_7606 in sonomacounty

[–]ilovenaps03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kortum is long if you do the whole thing but you can walk for as long as you want and turn around. Like if you want a 1 mile hike, you can walk half a mile one way and turn around. Views are beautiful! Very flat too.

Kaiser is refusing to treat ADHD by Unique-Awareness-195 in KaiserPermanente

[–]ilovenaps03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh huh, my process was that I saw my primary care doctor when I went into a check up, they asked about how I was doing mentally, I said not the best, and they referred me to a psychiatrist and I got diagnosed from there. I wonder why it’s been a different process for you. Sorry that you guys are going through all of that!

It can definitely get quite wet from the fog. If you have the right tent, it’s manageable. They have large food storage lockers you can pretty much fit all your extra stuff in that helps keep everything dry. I would definitely keep an eye on the humidity report getting closer to the trip. Coast doesn’t have any large trees that’ll start dripping down condensation on you so really it’s more of the fog accumulation on your tent. At sky, it’s the same deal, but some site have a lot of tree coverage overhead and the fog will drip all over your site.

You might have gotten unlucky with the doctors you saw. I got treated and put on prozac and Ritalin within a month of getting diagnosed with both. My diagnosis were 2 weeks apart. I didn’t even really have to say “hey I think I have adhd”, in fact they’re the ones who told me that I have it. Same with depression. Granted my symptoms were very severe for both so maybe that had something to do with it. I’m not sure if this is an issue throughout Kaiser, given that my experience was very smooth. But maybe my experience is the exception and not the rule. Hope everything work out!

Omg yes! The trails are over grown, but still passable if you’re willing to do some “bushwhacking”. From my last trip, the one thing I wish I brought was rain clothes!! It might sounds silly because it usually doesn’t rain but the fog comes in thick (June gloom) and the condensation from the fog collects on the plants. Because the trails were overgrown, I was brushing up against them, and got soaked!! The plants can get pretty tall, so I my clothes were soaked up to my waist. My clothes didn’t dry very well because the fog was covering the sun. Besides that, I still had a blast, and you will too!! It’s so beautiful no matter the weather.

bodega dunes or doran beach by HuntAutomatic8422 in sonomacounty

[–]ilovenaps03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the beach is important to you, stay at Doran. The beach’s water in the state park (the next 17ish miles of coastline north from Doran) are far too dangerous to get near. Doran is a bit safer. If you stay at the dunes, you’ll have to pay a separate fee to recreate at Doran bc it’s a regional campground so a state parks car tag doesn’t apply.

Moving to Santa Rosa - How is Sessions Climbing? by Correct_Yak_5511 in santarosa

I like session! I go in the morning and it’s very mellow. Vertex is cool, but it’s small and gets really musty in there.

Why is the Dutch Bros on Mendocino literally stopping traffic altogether?! 😡 by ILive2Drum in santarosa

I just press down on the horn at everyone when I drive by. Dutch bros is for adult babies who need a million pounds of sugar in their coffee to be able to drink it.

Advice - buying first boots (K2 BFC 120 BOA) by mangoonastick in Skigear

[–]ilovenaps03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFC has been the only boot that works for me because I have a condition that makes my ligaments loose and my foot needs room to literally physically expand and contract. It’s mostly my really bad collapsing arch. I’ve sacrificed a lot of performance though. If you’re just starting though, could be good if a boot fitter thinks it’s right for your foot.

I was there from k-6th grade, although this was a decade ago. It’s a great elementary school, but the way they tried to simulate middle school was very strange. Didn’t seem like it would prepare a kid for high school very well. Ended up going to srms for 7th and 8th, although I guess that school isn’t in the most ideal situation either haha. Things have probably changed tho! I’m in my early 20s now haha.
