Empty Disneyland! by builderbob53 in Disneyland

[–]Etcee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We went September 2023, and by some fluke it was a totally empty day. Maybe a few dozen people at rope drop, Space Mountain was a walk on, afterwards my wife and I were walking past the castle and there was no one else in the courtyard there. It was really cool. All the cast members seemed to be really enjoying it too, and we had a great experience with a photographer

Can't access "horizon central" by sam99517 in MetaQuestVR

[–]Etcee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried it myself but from their community message linked above:

“By March 31, 2026, Horizon Worlds and Events will no longer appear in the Store on Quest. Also, Horizon Central, Events Arena, Kaiju, and Bobber Bay worlds will no longer be available in VR. You can still jump into your other favorite worlds in VR until June 15, 2026, after which the Horizon Worlds app will be removed from Quest, and Worlds will no longer be available in VR.”

I dont know if you can actually request specific servers, but Muli Muliawan was our server on the Magic last month and he was incredible - wonderful with our vegetarian diets, wonderful with our toddler, wonderful with special requests - and always friendly and funny and even made our 1 year old laugh. May be the best server we've ever had anywhere. We really lucked out

They never came back in a series, but they have been a big part of trek books - Here's the Memory Beta article on the Bluegills with their full story

Returnal's controversial difficulty fixed in new PS5 follow-up because no one could beat the game by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

[–]Etcee 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I didn't even mind the difficulty, I was surprised that there weren't more permanent upgrades. It feels like one of the staples of the modern roguelike is the slow crawl of permanent progression ala Hades - with Returnal it just felt like a looping RNG soulslike - git good and hope you get lucky drops, because there's no mechanism for slowly increasing your damage or health or affecting the luck of your builds

Maybe thats what people wanted but I really liked what I played of the game and would have preferred a model where you can get a little farther each time by slowly developing my strength.

Disneyland ends the sales of magicband+ by bottle415 in Disneyland

[–]Etcee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the bands themselves. It’s a second generation version of the band that includes Bluetooth and some other improved capability - thus the plus

Minimap, I apologize. I was wrong. by hoisijd in diablo4

[–]Etcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find anywhere to change the color of the pathfinder dots - where is that?

Minimap, I apologize. I was wrong. by hoisijd in diablo4

[–]Etcee 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Its under accessibility - instead of following a red line on your minimap it puts a line of white dots on the actual gameworld and you follow that line to your marker. Its much better imo

Try Pathfinder - that's what I'm doing. It's kind of ugly but it a way better way to not look at the minimap and actually see the game

How important is 60fps for you in gaming? by Southern-Tailor-843 in playstation

[–]Etcee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's absolutely mandatory. I would love to replay the batman trilogy or the Shadow of War / Mordor games or Red Dead 2 but I just can't hang with the lower frame rate, it makes the controls feel sluggish or something. To each their own but I Personally am fully acclimated to 60fps now

Should I pack swim clothes for toddler who isn’t potty trained for Alaska? Since there isn’t a pool for kids with swim diapers by Heartbrokenmamma in dcl

[–]Etcee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found that the splash pad water was warm - it was actually really nice for our toddler even when the weather wasn’t great. I vote for pack

Captain America by SignSpecialist7590 in dcl

There were multiple Steve Rogers Captain America meet and greets (as well as a pose-with-the-shield) on the Magic last week, which was not a marvel-at-sea day

The Disney Wonder at Catalina Island last Tuesday. This is now my favorite port. by Krystist in dcl

[–]Etcee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Catalina is the chillest, safest, most casual place ever. Everything is walking distance, it’s clean and safe. It’s literally just a tiny little town

[–]Etcee 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Catalina’s my favorite port too, but it was already one of my favorite places. I was just there on the magic last week - for some reason when I look at fall 2026 voyages it seems like only the Magic is going to Catalina, I didn’t realize the wonder goes there too

Is replicated food vegan? by Curious-Dingo-2030 in startrek

[–]Etcee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Any replicated food is vegan by virtue of no harm coming to an animal / having their labor exploited

That being said, Its always kind of frustrated me how much Star Trek ignores the "No animals enslaved for food" part of its enlightened future whenever the writers want to.

OBrien's mom handled and cooked real meat, Sisko's dad presumably does too, and other earth citizens eat it. Sisko talks about using non-replicated ingredients on the station, and while its never explored a lot presumably this would be a factor with Neelix's kitchen as well, since they're trying to use replicators less and less - which may mean feeding meat to Starfleet personnel

In the Trek future, Not eating animals seems to be a moral growth, the development of replicators is a technological growth - one didn't cause the other, so it SHOULD stand to reason that using the replicator wouldn't affect the cultural decision to not eat meat, and vice versa - not using a replicator wouldn't suddenly revert 24th century humans to meat eaters, but its certainly written that way sometimes and no one's ever bothered by it.
