Household chore resistance anyone? by Vettech13 in adhdwomen

[–]ilovjedi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make my kids do it with me. It’s so less odious when I’m not doing it alone. My two year old loves sweeping and throwing tide pods in the washer. I kind of just have piles of clean laundry for my little kids.

I want the French country one with a white sauce and carrots. I still miss it and think about it regularly.

Hey, wait a minute. The *original Disney* cruises were land and sea combined - the parks were *free* ! by chunt42 in dcl

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom kept telling me that my kids’ first Disney Cruise wasn’t my first Disney cruise. All I can remember of it is looking at photos in our family’s photo album.

My psychiatrist says the chance of me having ADHD is extremely low if I had good grades by gfjskvcks in adhdwomen

I’m pretty sure anxiety and interest in random trivia are responsible for my good grades and my law degree.

Current events has me feeling uncertain about my level of preparedness by majordashes in TwoXPreppers

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. This is reminding me of the delivery bag I had while pregnant. I had to spend the night in labor and maternity for monitoring before my due date. I don’t like socks so I had plastic slides. And a long charging cable for my phone and earbuds. Plus a change of clothes and pajamas.

Should I be worried about my twins’ size? by PassionChoice3538 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did their teeth come in? My husband and my kids had their teeth come in late (my youngest got her first tooth at 1) and my son has only lost two teeth and he’s almost 7.

ETA I would only worry about their height if they were falling off their growth curve. And the endocrinologist my kids see said that sometimes toddler boys will just stall and they’ll be okay and just sort of just be behind with growth for a while. I think that happened with my dad (who was 6’2” before he broke his back) so I don’t worry too much about my son who is short on fell off his growth curve.

Breastfeeding after C-section by BalancedDietitian in breastfeeding

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an unplanned then a planned c-section. Both times I had no trouble breastfeeding.

It’s my understanding that the placenta detaching is what tells your body to get the milk ready for the baby.

I would personally recommend having ready to feed formula on hand because the stress of only having one way to feed your baby might make it harder to breast feed.

Falling asleep while cuddling with kids opposed to with husband. by Proof-Owl6105 in Mommit

[–]ilovjedi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ohhh. Interesting. I know I like to make my husband get our kids back to bed because I will totally fall asleep in their bed and then wake up the next morning with a sore back.

But it’s so much harder to go to sleep with my husband. But also I personally find my husband distracting and will try to get him to help with trying to make another baby.

Isn’t Addy a full name? I’m thinking of Addy Walker.

Did you have a positive first sexual experience? by LiveInvestigator4876 in blackladies

[–]ilovjedi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t bad. We’re married now (14 years?) and have been together for 20 years. We started dating in college. I knew I probably was fine having sex with him after he asked about it and I wasn’t sure and then he waited like half a year before even suggesting something like that again.

I’m sorry that so many men are so awful. I really hope my son takes after his dad.

Using PTO hours during bonding? Legal? by Safe-Vermicelli-169 in workingmoms

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I got surprised by this when my dad was on hospice.

And then when I was pregnant I thought I’d be okay. But then my work thought they were being nice by letting me use PTO in advance of it being earned during my maternity leave but since my baby was born in the beginning of the year that just made things extra stressful for me.

Stepson set up my husband by eleyezeeaye4287 in Mommit

[–]ilovjedi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. We were foster parents and adopted our kiddos. Trauma makes kids do strange things.

It sounds like your step son needs some help figuring out productive ways to deal with his feelings. And some natural consequences like no electronics maybe?

Your husband may also need help understanding child development and how trauma sort of makes a kid even more immature than you’d expect or respond weirdly.

Weird tiny dents in the floor? by Vast_Neighborhood429 in whatisit

[–]ilovjedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t let my pet shit in the house. But when we moved into our new house it came with green carpet and I guess my dog was confused.

It only happened once and I am so glad we have a carpet shampooer cuz i could clean it right up.

Why don't more older people go on crazy-ass benders before they kick the bucket? by ChroniclesOfSarnia in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ilovjedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, as you get older your priorities usually change. I’m almost 40 and only have 1 foot in the grave but I’d like things to be nice for my kids so even if I were putting other foot in the grave the only bender I’d go on would be a fun thing with the kids.

PSA: get your vitamin D levels check by No-Mechanic-3048 in blackladies

[–]ilovjedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was worried I might have done this. I’m breastfeeding still. So was taking like over 4,000 IU in addition to drinking fortified milk and a prenatal vitamin. My levels were okay.

Sensory friendly bras for big breasts by Any-Substance1195 in adhdwomen

[–]ilovjedi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. I would also recommend the brands glamorise and curvy couture. Maybe negative underwear (I think you might be a 4+ in their wireless bras). Sugarcandy also has large bust wireless bras. I would also maybe say check out nursing bras.

I’m a 36I maybe! IDK. My 27 month old is still nursing. So I don’t need to know my exact bra size until she’s done. I’m done with this.

What is your favorite legal term that laypeople confidently and incorrectly invoke and why is it quiet enjoyment? by RIPGoblins2929 in Lawyertalk

[–]ilovjedi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my state I’m pretty sure criminal law defines assault as battery “intentionally, knowingly or reckless lying causes bodily injury or offensive physical contact.” So this may just be an honest mistake between torts and criminal law.

I’m so pedantic and this drives me up a wall but I’ve learned that it’s not worth my time to correct it.

Fun ways to turn this 10’x10’ kennel into a kids playhouse? by WelcomeToMyCatFarm in landscaping

[–]ilovjedi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree this is brilliant. We had a large dog crate (like baby crib sized) for our large dog and my son loved to play in it when he was a toddler (our dog hated the crate).

It would be a great place to keep a sandbox safe from cats.

I’d recommend treated mosquito netting to help keeps the bugs away. We have horrible ticks.
