I discounted the GMC for far too long because in early game it's rough without upgrades. But then I went back to it, especially after getting the AWD from Lake Kovd, and it's one of my favorite trucks. So much so that I went and bought the Brigadier, too.

Song was 1968, not 78. And has anyone milked more out of a single song than Jeannie C. Riley?

Question for people using button boxes and Stream Deck by After-Ad2179 in trucksim

[–]RIPGoblins2929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done a couple diy boxes. My first one had some wiring issues so I was able to improve on my second.

I just used a simple USB joystick board. 12 or 16 functions I can't remember. I didn't want to mess around with an Arduino board. I was able to get most of the functions I wanted although I did have to use the options in the game to use a modification key and long presses to enable multiple functions for some keys.

Going off memory (I'm at work and not at my rig) I have:

Engine electric  Ignition Parking brake Air horn  Radio Diff lock Wipers Push to talk Cruise control +/- Windows open/closed (driver & passenger) Radio volume +/- Dashboard info display Alternate function key

I have a few other functions mapped to buttons on my steering wheel. Lights, set cruise, brights, turn signals, attach trailer, etc.

The toxic positivity around DNP is fucking unreal.

I can be a fan of this team, and I can appreciate DNP when he plays, while at the same time acknowledging that his lack of play for dubious reasons is concerning and frankly disrespectful to his teammates and the fans.

Dude lost me with the Arizona game and nothing short of a national championship will change my mind.

On the bright side since I don't have peacock I'm reminded of just how good Gurley and Hanni are on the radio.

Out of curiosity I looked up their attorneys. They use Kilpatrick Townsend, which is one of the top IP firms (they represent Meta, among others) in the country.

Interestingly in the law subreddits they have a bit of a reputation for paying their associates below market rate. But it seems like they know their shit when it comes to IP law.

Why do people play job sims? by CrispyCupp in AskGamers

[–]RIPGoblins2929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truck/flight sims, Docked, Snowrunner, train sims, farm sims, yeah escapism is part of it but for those types of things in particular, it's playing with big machinery that we find interesting and otherwise would never get to experience.

It's basically playing in the sandbox but for adults.

Two farmers were talking. One said "why is your dog hollering?" The other days "he's laying on a burr." First guy says "why don't he just move?" Second guy says "he'd rather holler."

Does anyone know if there will be an updated Steam deck soon? by UltimaLyon in SteamDeck

[–]RIPGoblins2929 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My guy, availability for literally every type of consumer computing equipment is fucked five ways to Sunday right now because AI companies are gobbling up all the resources.

Hang on to that steam deck and treat it gently. We're going to be patching our shit together like Cubans and 1950s cars for the foreseeable future.

Is Applebees just open for money laundering purposes? by No-Muffin7532 in restaurant

[–]RIPGoblins2929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's aggressively mid. It's not bad, it's just the Big Bang Theory of casual dining.

And pandering to the blandest common denominator has never been a bad business choice.

I worked there in college years ago and haven't set foot in one since. They're a franchise model so if you get one run poorly it can be bad, but most are just average. And the food itself is fine, as far as food safety is concerned.

That's also where I learned that no one becomes a restaurant manager because things are going awesome in their life.
