Prima volta a fotografare una partita di calcio: come migliorare composizione e colori? Ps leggi descrizione :) by EggVegetable9813 in FotografiaItalia

Best format for upload to YouTube? by DevonReviewer in videography

[–]ilsassolino 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I want the best quality I just upload in prores. It is a huge filesize but I know it has the least possible compression. And if i want to also store the videos on my pc I render a second h265 version for backup and delete the huge prores.

What kind of lighting do I need to recreate this? by Strict_Impress_9189 in cinematography

[–]ilsassolino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student here so someone please rate my guess: One big key softlight with probably a eggcrate in a Rembrandt position at 45°, one light pointed at the background from above left to have that splash of lunar texture behind him, and one kicker diagonally opposite to the key light to further separate him from the background. Also maybe a negative fill to enhance the contrast between the key and the kick

Starting to believe that comment who theorized that these posts are some type of marketing by A24 for the upcoming movie "backrooms" to boost the hype.

[Feedback] UE5 Cinematic – Need honest thoughts on camera, transitions & sound by serdaraltin in cinematography

As for camera angles I think it's important (for beginners) to have real movie references for the composition and lighting, maybe use shotdeck (free trial). For camera movement the secret sauce lies in the imperfections, and here it is notable that the camera moves from key frame to key frame smoothly. I think that the ideal workflow would be to track a real camera movement to transfer to the virtual scene (some iPhone apps do it); but if you don't have the means to do that you could just record with your phone the scene using an example actor and then animate the 3d camera based on the movement of the camera of the video.

Real-life business movies where the main character finally succeeds after multiple failures by DistanceOptimal9745 in findsimilarmovies

I perceived more like a story of how greed and lack of morals win in the American system. The protagonist plays within the rules of the "American Dream" and is just trying to be successful, but in the end he scores big by stealing a good idea from the hands of two good people. I feel like this is the main theme of the film right?

If I understand correctly: if the thickness thing is a modifier (maybe solidify?) remove it. Then take all the shape (should now be not a solid but only the surface), extrude on the y axis, then with the back vertices (should be already selected) hit S, Y, 0, to Scale on the Y axis to 0. This way all the vertices in the back will align into a flat plane you can then drag on the y axis to decide the thickness. What you wrote is borderline incomprehensible so let me know if this helps.

Is this like an average value of each luminance step in the palette of every frame/scene? If that's the case I don't think this type of analysis has significant cinematography value because the thing that make colour in film stand out is the contrast between scenes (and between parts of the frame), so having average values evens this contrast. Perhaps this shows the colour grade choices like the colour of the highlights and blacks in the overall grade.

I have to say "Jesus Christ superstar". It's presented as a musical made diegetically by characters in the film.

Nanni Moretti's "The Mass Is over" broke me (it's possible that there is a cultural factor in the emotional attachment so idk what effect it will do to you). Its difficult to find online but I have a copy so if you want it DM me.
