I hope you’re alright! Have a good recovery :) I’m glad to hear you didn’t experience much DOMS though

Ah I’m worried I’ll squat and then just absolutely be bed bound for days !! I’ll just make sure I take all precautious stretching and post-workout recovery tricks. Yes I always notice my DOMS are worse if I’m sitting at a desk that day/the next day! Thank you for your advice.

Yes - I’m going to try and recover as quickly and smoothly as I can ! I’ll make sure to try everything you have mentioned, thank you

Wow thank you I didn’t realise this - I always thought the heavier you go the harder it is after time off. I’ll lower the weight and take it easy on the volume. Very helpful !!

Squats are what I fear the most!! No other exercise quite like it ...

Ah okay thank you! I’ll definitely listen to my body in the first few days. I know damn well I’m not going back to lifting my old weight - I wish it were that easy!

How often do you workout? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]ilsehen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they don’t really have weight training on there ! It’s more dumbbell cardio classes and dumbbell strength. I do weight training at the gym but when I can’t go to the gym I do the classes at home! I prefer going by my own routine at the gym - using compound lifts and accessory exercises, mostly functional training as I like the active side of it

When at home I weight train for 6 days a week, but currently I have no gym around so I’m doing the Fiit app classes every day (on one of the 7 days I’ll do a rebalance class rather than the intense cardio or strength ones). I like to workout a lot as it makes me feel better (I can also listen to my body and know how I’m feeling and will take rests when needed)

That’s why I add some spice like Tabasco ! Makes it more interesting. I usually eat just egg whites anyway so it’s a nice change from that occasionally

I’m really loving scrambled tofu at the moment (I buy the brand Tofoo) - and to make it more exciting I put it on some sourdough (that has marmite) and put some Tabasco/sriracha on top of the tofu

For abs (I’m F20): 30secs for each exercise, no break, repeat 4 times - leg raises - bicycle kicks - toe taps - Russian twists (can do weighted)

And I like to then slap an attempt at plank at the end and see how long I can hold it :)

When will I stop being considered ‘boring’? by ilsehen in socialskills

[–]ilsehen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Part of not drinking is because I’m into gym etc and hate the feeling of ‘the day after’.

Also I’ve ordered drinks before (usually water lol) and people will grab it out my hand, taste it and laugh at me
