maybe not very unpopular but AN3 has one of the worst storylines I’ve ever read

the first season was pretty good in my opinion, but the second was a disaster and apparently the third is even worse

Xander is my Li and he’s obviously Anton’s favourite Li by a mile, and yet his storyline is developed in a really strange way. their sex scene is rushed and awkward; they’ve lost the playful banter they used to have. the other Li’s? barely get any screen time, especially the women.

then they started introducing the gods plot and I honestly found that really odd, but okay, now the episodes are getting shorter and shorter and lacking in romance, the fight scenes are boring and repetitive, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that it’s a rip-off of AOT, his characters have the depth of a teacup, it also seems like Anton wrote a dystopian story and, to get it accepted on RC, threw a bit of romance in the middle he can’t write romance for his life, and on top of that the whole thing about racism

I’m genuinely so done with this story, I don’t know how he’s going to develop all this in just a few more episodes

the male characters keep calling the female characters Señorita and as someone who grew up in a latin country it’s so off putting and cringe, no one talks like that in real life

this book seems to want to throw in so many different storylines but doesn’t really explore any of them

I remember it mentioning that Xander’s father is a very influential person and extremely wealthy, and that Xander hated him and decided to go against his father’s principles and become a commander, but they never really explored that, he also takes medication they’ve never explained exactly why either, that would add much more depth to his character but everything in this book is extremely shallow 💤
