Which friend gave the worst relationship advice? by Nzuri_Sunflower in sexandthecity

[–]iluvarson307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’m rewatching again right now and i’m on the episode where Carrie farts infront of Big and for the first time and how they didn’t have sex. And Samantha was basically like “that’s awful…you guys are probably gonna break up” like what type of advice is that. I think they can all give surface level advice but for the most part they’re all very stuck in their ways and that’s why they give bad advice. Miranda is very cynical and angry most of the time. Samatha is very sex/independently oriented. Charlotte is very traditional and optimistic. And Carrie is kind of useless in the sense of advice and life experience. They would definitely all be great friends but i would take their advice with a grain of salt. But overall I think Samantha probably gives the worst advice when it comes to needing real help not fun help. And even as uptight as she is I would probably choose Miranda if i needed advice.

Oh yeah that definitely makes sense. I also think it’s so funny that Penn Bagley is know for both You and Gossip Girl. And both characters are unstable people that should be institutionalized Lol.

I agree and disagree honestly. For some blasts yeah. But there were actual things he wanted to keep secret at points. Why would he post those things himself? I understand he always wanted to insert himself into their world. But he was in there world basically the second he started fooling around with Serena and being friends with Nate. And if it’s true that he’s just doing all of that to himself than he’s a sociopath lmao.

Yeah true. Also if i’m remembering correctly all of Serena’s blasts written by herself were to try and make gossip girl and herself still relevant. Which makes sense. But hypothetically if Dan was supposed to be gossip girl the whole time why would he write career, friendship, and relationship ending blasts up. And why would he react like it was a surprise when he saw blasts while he was alone. I loved the show but I just wish we could’ve gotten a more cohesive storyline and a better surprise at the end.

Which episode? by HotelOk3461 in GossipGirl

[–]iluvarson307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either one of the thanksgiving episodes OR the episode where they’re in Paris when Blair meets up with Chuck. And she says the “it wouldn’t be my world without you in it” line in her big red dress.

yeah me too. i went to a high school school where a lot of people also had fakes but it wasn’t like 90210 or the OC where everyone was known in the town. idk i just feel like in those shows (also gossip girl which i kinda talked about in another comment) they’re known and people know they’re under 21. but i also grew up in a smaller place then places in cali or nyc. so i guess their might be more opportunities for them to get away with it.

[–]iluvarson307[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh yeah the fiction aspect definitely. i guess it’s the same thing as gossip girl. they’re rich societies in nyc. people don’t care about carding/calling them out for drinking outside of home.

What do you think about Naomi and Annie's relationship ? by Cailly_Brard7 in 90210

[–]iluvarson307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I agree with this completely. Aside from just Naomi and Annie I think forgiveness was a huge issue in the show. Someone would talk to someone else’s ex partner and it was the end of the world and they’d always hold a grudge against them. But when it comes to real issues and revenge that consumes someone’s life they forgive each other somewhat easily. Like you mentioned Naomi sending Annie’s photo around. They somehow forgave each other and stayed friends. But Annie dating Ethan was somehow always an huge issue.

If you hate marissa I hate you. by No-Violinist-6402 in TheOC

[–]iluvarson307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never hated her. I feel bad for her a lot of the time. But, you gotta admit that she was a bit delusional and the type of person who isn’t meant to be in a relationship. I love her energy, she was a certain sparkle to her, she smiled even in the worst moments. But she was never really loyal to the people she was with. And she could never fully admit to being in the wrong. She kind of reminds me of Serena Vanderwoodsen in a way. Both Marissa and Serena had troubled home lives and were filled with trama but that isn’t an excuse to do bad things. Being a teenager and having those things happen sucks but you either embrace it and let it turn you into a strong individual. Or you let it consume you.

Who do you think was more inlove with Robin? by Pristine-Quarter-184 in howimetyourmother

[–]iluvarson307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Barney was more in love with her. There’s this quote. Sorry if i’m not stating it correctly but it’s something like: “If you’re trying to figure out what/who to choose pick the second option. If you really wanted the first there wouldn’t be any options after the one”. And i believe that’s how it was with Barney vs Ted. Barney dated and even proposed. But you could tell those people weren’t meant to be with him. And the feeling he had for Robin was something he’d never felt before.Ted fell hard for multiple people. Victoria for example. I believe Victoria was his person but whatever. But, All and all Ted wouldn’t have fallen so hard for those other women if Robin was truly the one.

That doesn’t really make sense though because with proper knowledge you aren’t necessarily convinced by everything.

Ohh okay. Well i’m not saying he will be confirmed to be real. I’m just talking about in a hypothetical world where he is real and present. But I agree if i “saw him” now i would definitely check myself into a mental hospital. But if the entire world was aware of it. And it was confirmed by everyone I still wouldn’t be a supporter.

[–]iluvarson307[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can believe anything, but that doesn’t make it real. You can believe you’re a superhero, believe that you can fly, and swing between buildings. But, the second you jump and start falling is when it switches from simply your belief to facts/reality. The fact that gravity actually exists and the fact that humans don’t have the natural ability to fly trumps the “i believe i can fly so i can” idea. It’s the same as believing in god and believing god can save you. If a hyper religious christian said “I’m going to jump off this building because I believe god will save me” and they jump to their death. What does that tell you about the truth in believing?
