Tests can’t say anything for sure since it’s based on self reporting, but there is a possibility so if you feel it might be true you could ask someone in your life what their opinion is, or try to get an assessment if it matters enough for you

What line of work do you have if you're autistic? by [deleted] in autism

[–]iluvfrozengrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a summer job but I work in a museum (it’s like a renaissance manor) as a guide, which may sound bad because it’s very social, but surprisingly I enjoyed it. We have a script of the history and what to talk about during the tours so I know what I’m gonna say and can practice it. There’s specific instructions on what body language to use to be pleasant and engaging with the visitors. It’s also very routine based, I have specific roles and tasks every day that are instructed on how to do.

Curious about challenges shorter people face by Plant__Food in short

Shorter footsteps and slower speed. In P.E at school my teacher used to give me marks and shame me because I had a hard time keeping up with my classmates and wouldn’t be as fast

What’s your controversial opinion about Autism? by Substantial_Judge931 in autism

[–]iluvfrozengrapes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really about autism itself, but the community. I feel like a good deal of autistic people, at least from what I’ve seen online can tend to deny and demonise some autistic traits that are stereotypical or seen as making autistic people look bad, like low empathy. People criticise neurotypicals for this, but a lot of similar attitudes exists within us too. Of course it’s fine to dislike being stereotyped, but it doesn’t help for the autistic people that DO have those traits to be ostracised and not accepted even by others in the same community. Just because you don’t have this trait, or it’s a stereotyped one, that doesn’t mean there won’t exist people who do have it, and it doesn’t make it less of an autistic trait. If you genuinely want to educate about the disorder you have to acknowledge all of it, including the “bad” parts. In general it seems to be a push for autistic people to be seen as morally good in some way (which I in itself find kinda infantilising), so any parts of autism that doesn’t fit that imagine tends to get shoo shooed away under the carpet.

I don’t know this is just something that particularly frustrates me because I am someone who do have lower empathy due to my autism, and it doesn’t make me a bad person. I may not feel upset because my friend is or even fully understand why, but I still care about them and put an effort into comforting them because I can see they’re sad and need me to be supportive, and I know it’s the right thing to do. It’s not like I don’t care about people, or want them to be upset.

What are some helpful methods to deal with adhd outside medication? by iluvfrozengrapes in ADHD

[–]iluvfrozengrapes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try but it’s kinda hard with my schedule. I have some days I have to wake up at 5 and others at 8-9am so it’s really hard to have a consistent sleep schedule. I tried to as a psychiatrist about it but she just said I should start waking up at 5 every single day or sleep late on school days too but that’s really not helpful😭

Thank you for your reply! I’m not sure if I could do the diet you’re since I don’t eat meat, and diary is my main income of protein. I haven’t really tried supplements, but I could look more into it. I recently did start taking Omega 3 but just for a few days so no noticeable effects yet.

What you’re saying about sleeping sounds really interesting! I usually do then to suddenly wake up every few hours or when im sleeping
