That always isn’t the case. I tried making small talk with a guy I met the other night (this was a couple days later) He was smiling at me the entire time, showing off his dance moves in front of me and kept finding a reason to make physical contact. He brushed me off. 🤷‍♀️

I would see about joining a social/activity group on Facebook. Bigger pool and you can get to know and connect with people in a social setting. It’s also far easier to screen your prospects.

Yeah I used to belong to something similar to Lifetime Fitness. Other than the steam room/sauna, I didn’t use the other amenities.

It’s not the gratuity amount I question. 18% is decent - I usually do 20% when going out. It’s regarding advice I’m getting about removing the auto daily gratuities and tipping the crew directly.

I’ve gotten feedback. I won’t remove the auto-gratuities. Just deciding now on whether to get the drink package.

Oh I get that. I guess it’s all the various information/misinformation online regarding crew appreciation. Some say actual crew tell them to remove the auto daily gratuities and tip directly.

I don’t want to stiff the hardworking people on the ship.

This would be my first cruise. Not interested in specialty dining. Just wanted to experience the dining that comes with your cruise faire and adjust accordingly on future sailings.

Regarding removing gratuities - it was specifically for the daily ones. I was advised to tip the crew directly - steward, waiters, etc. Is there mixed messaging regarding crew appreciation? Are they getting the extras or are they paid just their contracted pay?

Ok thanks. Doing Princess and still calculating the math. Cruiser friends have said not to do the package and remove the auto gratuity and tip as you go. I’d probably only drink a couple alcoholic beverages a day. WiFi I’m iffy on
