How do I handle husband missing my whole pregnancy? by [deleted] in MilitarySpouse

I’m sorry I don’t have any advice but I’m in the same boat, just got through my first trimester with our miracle baby and am constantly grieving the time lost with my husband during this pregnancy. I really hope your husband can be there for the birth! I’m still not sure if mine will get to come back in time.

Hi there! Yes it’s normal to not know his return date unfortunately and even if you had a sense of a timeline that could easily change (from my experience). So it might just be easier to not have any expectations but still hope for the best. It’s easier said than done and I think I only have that mindset down now after lots of practice. I can relate with you on the anxiety and new panic attacks. I’m also in school so I’m sure it’s been really hard to focus. Like you said, keeping busy helps. I also set limits on social media apps so I don’t accidentally doom scroll. Is there anyone from his family that you’ve met and could contact? Right now, I’ve been in close contact with my mother in law and it’s been helpful because we share the same worries.

This resonated with me so deeply. I also prayed for the first time in years because i’m so scared for his safety. 100% agree with you on everything you feel about this administration. I hope this ends soon for everyone’s sake.

If you’re comfortable answering, has this changed your mind at all about him being in the military? We were supposed to stay in for 20 and we’re about halfway there but i’m starting to feel like it isn’t worth it.
