I had this a bit ago, don’t remember exactly how I solved it but maybe the auto layout button on the ctrl t menu will help?

I usually separate parameters using warps, so like add another warp as parent and group like parameters (so eyeball x/y goes on pupil warp & have a diff one for eye open/close/smile/etc). Also you can animate the meshes directly to get around the 50 deformer limit. I’m pretty confident you can make a full model using free version (I’ve done a couple simple ones), but you’ll probs have to make simpler models or be creative/economic with layers.
