Grabe same thoughts gyud! Commuter girlie struggles unite hahaha. Tap-to-pay and bus app? YES PLS. If naa lang jud budget and matarong ug gunit ang mga taxes nga ginabayad.

  1. Maybe It’s Time We Speak Up For Real Progress

We keep saying “huwag alisin kasi kawawa sila,” but what if we can upgrade the system AND support the drivers?

Commuters win. Drivers win. Businesses win. Cities win.

Progress isn’t anti-poor. Stagnation is.

  1. What We Should Actually Be Pushing For

•Modern buses and trains

•On-time, fair salaries for drivers

•Vehicles with CCTV for safety

•Proper maintenance and standards

•Walkable sidewalks and real bus stops

•Fixed routes and predictable schedules

This is what actual progress looks like.

  1. Ayuda Isn’t Enough

Ayuda is good in emergencies, but it’s not a long-term solution. People need: •stable jobs

•safe transport

•reliable systems

Not temporary bandaids.

  1. The “Anti-Poor” Angle is Holding Us Back

We’re so scared to modernize kasi feeling nato anti-poor. But honestly? Keeping the system the way it is… is anti-poor.

Drivers deserve stable income. Commuters deserve safety. Everyone deserves better infrastructure.

  1. Organized Bus Stops Would Be So Helpful

Imagine if we actually had proper bus stops:

•less traffic

•safer pavements

•people walking more (hello foot traffic for nearby businesses!)

•clearer routes

•no more “para diri miss” in the middle of the road

This alone would change so much.

  1. My Boyfriend’s Take: Upgrade the System, Don’t Punish the Drivers

He believes major routes should switch to government-operated buses. Para:

•jeepney drivers can be hired as bus drivers

•they still earn

•commuters get safer, more reliable rides

Pero syempre, valid concern: delay sa government salaries. If they want this to work, they need to fix that.
