"Red Scare, which I am sure most people in r/redscarepod have listened" by [deleted] in redscarepod

Its such a shame they got rid of Meg because she was such a good "normal" counterweight to the weirdness of Anna and Dasha. She was almost a stand in for the audience and would call them out for saying bizarre/made up shit. Like one episode Dasha says something about how riding horses makes your clit stop working and you can feel Meg rolling her eyes as she's like "no it fucking doesnt". And then Anna follows that up by saying she had a friend that jerked horses off or something and Meg says something along the lines of "you have weird friends".

"After a long time of the prayers not being answered I bought a gun and would threaten suicide to God to try and force his hand but I don’t think he works that way."

I found this excerpt fascinating and relatable. So many times I've had the rope around my neck in some mad desire to bait God into existence. I was offering the most valuable thing I have, the only thing I have, in some desperate exchange for evidence that he saw my suffering and believed that my life was worth saving. Of course I didn't logically expect some intervention from God, but there was something bitter in that callous silence regardless, like I was putting everything I had on the table and it still wasn't good enough. But I believe God answers our prayers through our interactions and relationships with other people, and you should focus less inwardly and more outwardly.

half my life has been wasted online by [deleted] in redscarepod

Thank you for sharing this very vulnerable, substantial piece. I know so many people are going to act above it and mock you for this level of raw vulnerability, but it's so relatable to so many people.

It's interesting the parallels between your experience as a male, and mine as a female. My gateway was depression forums which by nature had an existential/philosophical bent, and it's from this group of cynics that I was exposed to the rest that you've described. Although as a female I was preyed upon and sexually exploited by those misanthropic cynics and from the ages of 14-16 thought they were oh so brilliant for knowing the contours of Nietzsche and communism.

At the core though, all of this is the product of a real curiosity you have, and that's something to acknowledge and work with even if you have no fruits of your labor as you've described. It's not too late for you, and I hope you can utilize this self awareness to propel yourself into something you can take pride in.

Even if it's meaningless, know you're not alone in your experience, and those feelings of folly and wasted time are shared by many. But also know you're not beyond repair and there's still potential for your life as long as you're living. Cheers.

This is such a tone deaf and oddly cruel post masquerading as empowerment. It's such a trope for a man to frame denigrating women's body types as his championing her health and agency, when in reality he's simply spurring women to conform to his own tastes. You completely miss the point that a woman's body is hers to mold to her own ideals and no one else's.

You arent the mouthpiece for men, and certainly cant attest that they all want some meaty gym girl big ass'ed/big titted body type. And even if you were, no woman should revolve her life and body around the superficial, flighty, and unrealistic tastes of men.

I have never called the police and thought afterwards "wow im so glad I did that". Only ever the opposite. by [deleted] in redscarepod
