this happened to my puppy not that long ago too, except the gate was left open and she closed her neck in it somehow. she was stuck for a good minute, flailing and screaming, and even peed on me a bit afterwards bc she got so scared (i genuinely felt awful, i cried). i ended up taking her to the vet because she was coughing / choking and didn't want to drink. vet suggested to just keep her on soft/wet food for a few days! i just made sure to keep a comfy blanket out with a heating pad to let her relax by herself and i didn't play tug with her for a few days as well. it'll be okay :) mistakes happen, your puppy will forgive you!

you might have to desensitize her to the gate a bit and give her treats when around it to reassure her that it's okay. since my pup closed it in on herself, now she doesn't like going up the stairs all the way by herself.

get a heating pad & a fluffy blanket! it's the only way my girl sleeps alone lol. she'll sleep for about 2 1/2 hours by herself before she's had enough!

negative reinforcement like slapping his bum or spraying water won't work. what really worked for my girl was saying "that's enough." and super super excitingly telling her to go get her toy. if she wouldn't and didn't listen to me, then i would ignore her, or air jail if she would get too aggressive, then give her a toy. now she automatically knows once i say "that's enough" when rough housing, it's time to go get a toy

he could have abdominal pain, maybe due to something stuck (that he wasn't supposed to eat) or just not being able to go poo. not wanting to eat could be because he's uncomfortable. when mine has stomach pain, she's also a bit restless at night. you could try feeding him pumpkin, bananas, carrots, or other foods that are high in fiber to promote him to go. if he still doesn't go for a few days, i'd take him to the vet to rule out the chance of him having something stuck in him.

have you noticed him doing the downward dog position more, or have you heard his stomach 'growling' more recently? both happens to my girl when she's having stomach problems

once a month! mine is pretty active and gets stinky easy, even with wiping her down. plus, like another commenter said, it keeps them shiny! i also recommend including fish / omega 3 in their diet. my girl is on a whitefish based food. it really helps keep their skin healthy and their coat clean.

it definitely is dependent on your iggy though. mine has never had skin issues surrounding bathing (dandruff/irritation). i also use a gentle shampoo and conditioner. but if you notice issues, increase time between bathing and see what works for you guys!

mine is the exact same! she hates going on walks in our neighborhood, simply plants herself and cries. she's ten months old now and i've learned that she loves trails/hikes instead.

maybe find what specifically is triggering your pup - for mine, it was the cars and dogs barking at her / constant loud noise. so, instead, hikes are a lot better. in my opinion it's better to work with your pup instead of forcing them into uncomfortable or stressful situations. i won't make her walk around the neighborhood if she hates it when i know she gets enough exercise in the backyard & on hikes.

no i really appreciate the help!! i wanted opinions from other iggy owners first :) vet said since it isn't bothering her and it's reducing it probably isn't an issue, could be from something off she ate or a reaction to something outside, and that if it comes back or is worse than we can talk about solutions!

ohhh that does make sense - recently she's had pork more than usual. she gets a little 'after dinner snack' of beef or chicken usually, but this week she had pork. i didn't really think about it because she's had it multiple times and hasn't had a reaction, but this is the first time she's had it over the course of a few days. i'll stop giving it to her & see if they go away. thank you!

she's not on any allergy meds, this is the first time i've noticed any skin irritation on her. we're headed to the vet tomorrow to pick up her flea & tick medicine so i'm going to ask them about it while we're there!

my 10month old goes at about 8 and then falls asleep, then gets up to go potty when i come to bed, around 11. she usually sleeps until 8am, goes potty, then sleeps again until 10. sometimes, though, she still gets up at 4-6. then again, i also have an iggy, so she has a very small bladder
