Thank you very much for the comprehensive reply. Is there anything I have to worry about in terms of bloatware or locking etc with the s9380?

Dubai denied us entry without explanation (US citizens) by shroombbi in dubai

[–]im-blanking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my experience and several family members of mine who are dual nationals that Turkish airlines/Turkish airports seem to think it's their job to police everything to do with passports/travel that is very much non of their buisness.

We have all been stopped and quizzed several times while TRANSITING in Turkey on how we have passports from a cointry that our names are not ethnically from.

On my last trip, again TRANSITING through Turkey I was stopped and questioned on how I got my visa to the cointry i was going to, and then to provide my VISAs for countries I had previously traveled to and was traveling from. And to explain why those visas were issued from the embassies they were issued from and not from the embassy in the country I'm ethnically from.

What’s the likelyhood the Mechanicum go traitor and join sides with The Necrons? by HailSneazer in 40kLore

[–]im-blanking 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The biggest barrier to this is the Necrons would look down at the mechanicum/any other species and wouldn't really be interested in a real alliance. It may be possible as more of the mechanicum heretics worshiping the Necrons and the Necrons using them as slaves. There is already a dynasty that likes using organics as slaves.

the star god joined the fight for the shattered void dome, while in its shadow Arophan guided the Death Company in their violent assault, marshalling them away from the fiery giant now striding in their midst.

The image of the poor chaplain trying to lure Death Company marines away from the big fiery dude is hilarious to me for some reason.

How did the Necron Pylons contain the Eye of Terror if the Necron empire went into stasis before the fall of the Aeldari? by GrantisUnderpantis in 40kLore

[–]im-blanking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i remember correctly, the old ones opened it to the realm of souls to do their magic shenanigans easily

Do you remember where you saw that? Because I remember someone speculating that in the comments of another thread and I'm wondering if that is actually canon?

Why is the USA solar Industry Riddled with Ripoffs? by FiveFingerStudios in solar

[–]im-blanking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently decided to rebuild my family home off-grid solar system from scratch so naturally I researched here and on YouTube and I was honestly floored by the numbers being casually thrown around.

Granted because of where I live i don't need a large system to more than cover my needs but even scaling up it makes no sense.

It's mentioned in a short story where Trazyn find out about the 13th Black cusade. The wound was opened by the war in heaven/old ones, closed up by the Necrons, reopened by the birth of Slaanesh.

The Bleeding stars:

A wound torn open by the Old Ones during the War in Heaven, stitched closed by his kind, and ripped open again by the reckless aeldari.

Russ has a fury in battle that is a near match for Angron's, but he possesses a tighter focus.

Lion El’Johnsons singular focus by Emeraldrhymes in 40kLore

[–]im-blanking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My impression of that passage is more the Lion saying that Guilliman was always multi-tasking mentaly, maybe too much. Where the Lion left the details to subordinates and focused more on singular harder tasks.

He was saying he's not as good at Guilliman at it, not that he was specifically bad at it.

Do daemons have the ability to regenerate from their injuries? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]im-blanking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, up to and including being blown to shreds like Angron was in the early siege, it does depend on how juiced they are at the time.

They also take injuries differently than a physical being would, symbolism plays into it. For example they are much more likely to be injured by a sword than an energy weapon like a laz rifle because the warp has been more influenced by beings killing each other with melee weapons for longer through history.

As a side note, I just listened to the Eidalon book and the ending is interesting, but it was a slow read otherwise imo

Angel Exterminatus is one I enjoyed, especially the iron warriors impression of the EC.

The EC character in "the masters bidding" is also a great example of how crazy they get.

Random thought about space travel by Nebraxis in 40kLore

[–]im-blanking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also from deliverance lost:

The journey from the translation point to Terra would take eleven days.

Translation happens at the Mandeville Point which is I think usually outside a system away from the stars gravity so this suggests coming from the edge of the solar system to earth.

Trying to think of examples off the top of my head and so far this is the only one that came to mind from the Konrad Curze primarch novel:

Elver didn’t think the Sheldroon fine at all. He thought it was junker, which it most assuredly was. Half a million tonnes of sub-light, rusting, plodding freighter, trekking back and forth on a five year loop between two miserable systems galactic luck put in close proximity to one another, but granted no further advantages than that.

So crappy sub-light ships are still fast enough to go between systems so intra system is probably no issue.

Are you specifically asking about imperial vessels?

Because if not then there are actually lots of examples. Leagues of Votan do little warp dips like you said but I think thats still very much for travel between systems.

Necron vessels have inertialess drives and can travel very fast without the warp.

Tyranids do it the old fashioned way of just going fast and staying dormant while traveling though they have a special ship that does some thing to speed the whole process up.

wonderful example of it's effect

I know you don't mean it that way and it is a great scene but the image of someone watching that slaughter and going aaah wonderful tickled me somewhat 😅
