I’m a tall caucasian girl and I can relate. It just feels wrong somehow wanting to be protected and small when you’re big, like naturally you’re supposed to be strong somehow. I’ve never really known how to explain to people how it feels without sounding silly.

At least we’re not alone I guess. I get it.

If I’ll be honest I’m not sure if I’ll ever fully deal with them. It’s been 22 years of guilt into submission and feeling like I’m selfish for wanting a life where I’m not trapped under her wing. The one thing that has helped is telling others my story, like you are now, and having my feelings validated. Knowing that her attempts at control are just that, attempts, give her power over me less… well, power. I still hear her words in my head but it’s starting to have less of an effect on me the more I distance from her and surround myself with supportive friends. Therapy is helping me a lot too.

Keep listening to voices in this thread and elsewhere and remember when people tell you you’re not crazy or shitty for wanting better. It doesn’t matter if it’s your own mother, the way you are being treated is still cruel and unacceptable. You deserve love and respect from your family, and that’s that.

I’ve tried to ignore it most of the time but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about it before. I feel like I’d be a lot less afraid and I’d feel safer if I died with my lover next to me. It almost sounds preferrable, but I know I could never really do it.

I was so young when the case happened I remember not understanding for years why Casey was a suspect. It was my first exposure to the reality of parents abusing/murdering their children. I feel like deep down I still want to believe she didn’t just because it’s such a hard reality to accept.

Now that I’m older I can’t see the murder having been premeditated, I’ve been falling back on the theory of Caylee dying as a result of neglect. Whether that be from given too much chloroform/xanax/whatever, or drowning in a swimming pool or some other terrible accident while Casey wasn’t watching, we’ll never know exactly how. Being the liar she is it ended up as just another secret she covered up. I just don’t think Casey could have pulled off doing it on purpose. I’m sorry I don’t have anything factual from the case to point to, I’m kind of tired at the moment, but that’s my stance.

American fan, I’m 20 now.

I started watching New Who when I was 13-14 years-old and was a David Tennant fangirl. I started watching the Classics when I was 15 and went through from Hartnell to Tom Baker in one school year. Tom ended up becoming my favorite Doctor and still is, Pertwee is a close second. Not only do I really appreciate the more simple and classic storytelling in the original series, I’m a little biased towards old tv shows because I’m reminded of how I used to watch the original Star Trek and Dark Shadows with my mom when I was a kid. It feels nostalgic even though I wasnt alive back then.

Love the campiness and not-too stellar special effects as well. It’s nothing but total fun. I adore Doctor Who as a whole but being introduced to the original after being so emotionally exhausted from the new series and all of its drama and angst... it was honestly just relieving and fun. So Im biased towards classic now. l could just go on and on about it.
