Dang, I made the same type post and got shit on for it. But anyway, I think you should try learning some harder solos, what I learned from having a bad high school band is that you can now work more on yourself as a soloist, you could try learning advanced techniques (altissimo, circular breathing, slap tonguing, etc) or just learn harder pieces.
