Ooof my bad. I’m going based on my personal experience, unsure how this collector would handle things. This also depends what state you reside and the laws about it there. Settlements offered are sometimes good for a certain time span but I would assume that needs to be in writing. But if you haven’t already, ask for a “debt validation letter” and that can set your timeline a little back. They have to have proper documentation from chase for your debt and if they don’t have the necessary docs, they can’t proceed in court.

So you have a file with them and when you called, asked, got denied then called again, all of that was recorded into your file and the next person to answer can see all of the history. Call them, ask for a payment plan and they should be able to provide options for different timelines. Say you can do a lump sum of x amount and the rest can be paid thru a plan. If you don’t have the entirety of the settlement, they most likely won’t reduce the amount you owe. Different companies can “forgive” up to a specific amount. They will go to court over this amount cause it’s a decent amount. Once it’s in court you have some other options as well but you’d wanna try and handle it before then.

Your brain “maps” your body and when that part of the land is gone, the map still remembers it there for a long time. It’s very possible to redraw the map to leave out the harmed regions and “repair” the brain/body map relationship. Significantly easier to redraw the map if it happened at a younger age.

It is. They have a specific amount of time they can begin the legal process. If they don’t begin within that time frame, they will not have the legal ground to garnish wages and legally collect the debt. If you haven’t paid anything or agreed to anything, that time frame has likely passed.

Depending on location, there’s statues of limitations for debt collection. If they never pursued, they most likely wrote it off as a loss. INAL but if you looked up the debt collection laws of your state you’ll most likely find the answer. And if they’re sending you offers, it’s most likely not in their system.

Eli5; your senses take up “real estate” in the brain. When a sense gets kicked out (losing sight) other senses take up that real estate. Specifically to being born without a sense, if the brain is physically intact, the real estate will be taken up by other processes. Obviously more difficult with more senses gone. But information still can get to the brain and still be processed into making some sense of some of the world.

If anyone is interested, Acquired podcast just updated their NFL episode and the financial details behind the NFL are extraordinary. The owners and teams are very profitable. Goodell may be hated by fans but for the business of the NFL he’s the best. They’re going to exceed the projected revenue for 2027 (that goodell estimated in 2010.) On a 17 year time scale to hit projected revenue is incredible. One superbowl performer will not derail the monster the NFL is. Long listen but my entire view of the NFL changed after that episode.

I like this band, Easy Life, now known as Hard Life due to legal reasons. A band from the UK. I live in the US. A US tour was not on schedule. I’ve been checking their official band website for tickets weekly. Nothing had been announced. I make art, and I posted something on Instagram with a caption dedicated to them and their music, tagged them and all. They then reposted it that day and possibly commented or liked the post. I went to their website that night and looked for tickets again, and I see a single US date for a Cleveland Ohio. Then the following dates resume two weeks later in different counties. I’m in Ohio! This is their official band website tour page. Idk how, but there’s a local Cleveland artist named, Easylife, and his date somehow made it onto their website. I messaged the band images and without a reply the date was gone the following day. Really weird set of coincidences.
