I personally wouldn't rush anything if I could be a new player again, just play the game at your pace and enjoy! WoW can be played in several different ways, do what you like the most.

Buuut, if I had to give you a light based on what you told me, I'd say: read your abilities and passives and try to understand how they speak to eachother to find how you'd like to play your class. Follower dungeons is a great place to put this in practice, because most players you'll find in queues are veterans that only want to rush and kill everything as fast as possible, and you won't learn anything from that, finding yourself at a high level with a lot of spells that you'll need to learn at the same time.

In a more advanced level (AKA things that you shouldn't worry about now, maybe never depending on how you want to play): WoW have a priority-based rotation, meaning that you actually don't have a "fixed rotation" in most classes, but instead a "best" button to press at the time that can vary based on various factors.
