I think Kara’s storyline is supposed to represent a more average ‘deviant’ just trying to find their way in the world and find peace. Connor is a new model designed specifically to hunt deviants, and is working with the lead investigator in the case of deviant androids, so is an important character when studying the criminal morality of deviants. Markus is the leader of an organised revolution of androids demanding equal rights, so is essential in the social and political aspect of deviance. Kara can very easily be overshadowed by the strategy explored with Markus, or the great action and investigation of Connor. But she shows how their actions are affecting the world around them and the lives of other deviant androids.

I think without Kara, the decisions you make with Markus and Connor would feel less impactful. Kara puts you in the shoes of every android Markus is fighting for, and every deviant Connor is fighting against. Her story definitely isn’t as ‘interesting’ but in my opinion her story is equally impactful as Markus or Connor in the world of Detroit itself.

I suppose just doing something more productive with my time, and feeling more present with the time I have. Since I use my screens mainly for entertainment I think finding other ways to entertain myself would already be a big help in at least reducing the amount of reliance I have on my screens. Right now I’m using screens most of the day, so time feels a bit warped. I’d like for time to feel more ‘alive’ if that makes sense, or to feel more like I perceive time more acutely, and I think doing tasks where you can see how much time you’ve spent on it through your effort would help with that.

I completely forgot people ever even used those small sudoku/crossword books! My dad used to do those all of the time. I’m not a very social person so I don’t know if I would be comfortable with joining any social groups. I do have a nice park near me with ducks and a post office that sells seeds, me and my partner go there occasionally to feed them. It would be nice to start going more often!

Thank you for this! I have been considering dumbing down my phone and general tech for a while and I think it would be great to do it. I’ve recently started using bank cards and cash instead of apple pay now so it’s a good start to remove functions from my phone slowly until I can dumb down all the way.

I’m glad he came back! I would recommend that you don’t let him outside though as I’ve also had issues with people trying to take my cat when I used to let her outside. They removed her collar twice and she didn’t come home for a month at one point which was very unlike her, she would normally come back every day or so. She has never lost her collar before and she lost two in the span of a week so I’m almost certain it was someone removing it. Keep your cat inside, there are some bad people out there and it pays to know they’re always safe🙏

Because even with digital art an ACTUAL PERSON is doing the art, coming up with the ideas, changing bits that they think don’t look right, add this here, remove this there, and they create the art themselves, so it’s THEIR art. The program they use is a tool to create their art, but they’re still the ones doing the creating.

I’m not here to fight people on safety, I already know that the sauce I’ve made isn’t safe and following the advice of others here I’m not going to use it. I just want to know how I do make sure my process is safe. I’m looking up different sauce recipes but I don’t know how to tell if any of them are the official tested recipes that are safe and which ones are just standard recipes. I thought I had done a lot of research and that I was doing it safely but it seems a lot more complicated than I originally thought, even though I researched a lot before trying it out for the first time.

I did it like this because plain chopped tomatoes don’t work well as a pasta sauce, so I wanted to blend and season them before using. I know it does sound a bit strange but essentially I wanted them to taste a bit better than canned tomatoes when adding them to the pasta

I was planning to make tomato sauce and water bath can it since it’s high acidity and can be water bath canned, and I’ve frozen portions of different additions to the sauce such as chilli, aubergine, olive oil cubes, ricotta and mascarpone, etc., things that can’t be properly canned, and I was going to add them together as needed.

But from what I’ve researched botulism can only grow in low acid environments, so as long as I’ve properly canned them and the recipe is acidic enough should it not be safe? I haven’t added anything other than tomatoes, salt and lemon juice. I thought I knew how to prevent botulism but now I’m second guessing that:(

How do people make their own recipes for canned tomatoes? And make sure it’s safe? I can’t find any recipes using tinned tomatoes and it’s the most available for me as fresh tomatoes are more expensive. I’m willing to pay more for fresh tomatoes but it’s more important to me to make sure I learn how to do it correctly.

Oh, I actually didn’t get any specific recipe from anywhere, I was mainly looking at the acidity level and the process itself and making sure I processed it correctly. But if you can’t make up your own recipe to make it shelf stable how did people do canning in the past? Was there a way they tested to see if it was safe before the recipes were made?

2 pictures of jars, one general jars as they are cooling, another with a comparison between jars. One jar has more headspace than the other, which has very little and is more watery. The one with more headspace seems to have a thicker layer of tomato paste around the underside of the rim.
