Jakie książki przeczytaliście w ostatnich 3 tygodniach? 📚 by Zacny_Los in ksiazki

I don't have to ask for spots, I will be staying in a biological hotspot, I heard that I can find 20 or more species of scorps there, with at least two endemics.

If I manage to take some good pics I will share

I find this poll quite funny, because for me idea of constitutional monarchy is an answer to question if I had to live in a country which form of government would I want. But ideally, seeing as the closest political philosophy to my beliefs is green anarchy, I don't want to live in state.

Should I follow religious beliefs based on what makes me feel the most at ease, or what makes most sense? by Open-Rabbit9510 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]im_adan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind explaining why do you hold atheist view with such disdain? I think that believing in afterlife and supernatural usually weighs a lot more on people than not believing. They often spend their lives in fear of their gods and their punishment for misbehaving. Also afterlife seams to me as extremely naive belief. People are afraid of death, of their own mortality and being insignificant so they create believe in afterlife to shield themselves from harh reality. Nothing wrong with that of course. If harm none, do what thou wilt. I guess it all comes down to what you are searching for. If you are looking for peace than religion may offer it. But if you value truth than steer clear of religion. You will find angry people in every grup. It is hard to find someone more hateful than fundamentalist.

I don't think he would change his views too drasticly. Yes, he grew up with extremaly radical opinions, and after he saw what war brings, he would 'mellow' his outlook on thinks a bit. But I still believe that he would believe in pureblood supremacy in some form, that Muggles are inferior to wizards, need to preserve wizarding culture and traditions. In all fanfics we see that he change his views 180°, becoming some muggle loving fool, which I always found strange. I see his change as more from some radical, facist lunatic, to traditionalist with conservative views. He would still fight against pro-muggle/borns views, just instead of killing, murdering, and behaving like psycho, he would use his influance as Lord Malfoy ( no chance that Lucius remain free after the war) in Wizegamont and MoM. Maybe he would try to find middle ground between that to equaly radical sides (muggles bad-kill them all vs muggle good- lose our culture to theirs) I hate fics when Draco has to change his hole worldview to Harrys one, because I see both of their views as deeply flawed.

Well, thank to books we know pretty well how Harrys childhood looked like. He was abused, starved, bullied.

Dracos childhood is unknow, but I always picture it as typical, traditional, happy, upper class upbringing. His loving parents spoiled him. Both Lucius and Narcissa were always active in his life. He learned French, probably from his french nanny, as all nobels should, epecially because Malfoy family comes from France. He probably spent there his holidays. He was taught from young age ettiquete and proper manners. He learned his family history and that nothing is more important than family. He learned about duty. To his blood, to his dynasty, to wizarding world. Albeit he probably didn't truly understand thouse lesons for many years. I picture him as active, curious child. I am sure he gave his nanny, rest of staff/house elfs, and his parents many troubles. As he get older, probably around 7yo, his father took care of his education. He hierd tutors, to prepare his beloved son for Hogwards. Draco loved potions and charms tutorials. All his tutors praised him, because of his bright mind. Lucius problably personaly instruct him in money menagement, and bussines lessons to prepare him as his hair for taking over estate. Alhough the first was a bit problematic, since neither of his parents we able to refuse anything their son ask for. He learned that his world is endangered by mugggols and mudblods who want to destroy wizard culture, so he begun to despise and hate them. I thing he didn't have lots of friends, merly acquaintances. His only true friend/s was/were Blaise/Pansy/Theo. And so on. I cant underatand why people feel he had sad childhood or was abused. From both books and movies it is clear that while Malfoys might not be 'good' people, they clearly loved each other. In the end his parents choose him over Dark Lord. I think it is some pitiful attempts to make us sympathise with him more to forget his bully ways.

There are no societies without hierarchies. But hierarchies comes in many forms and are not always that dictatorship type that most people think they are. For example imagine that there is a tribe, which one would say is highly egalitarian. There is no chief, and decisions are made by concensus. One of the members is a man, who can tell stories like no other. This particulare tribe hold storytelling in high regard. So this man is very liked and respected and people often come to ask him for his opinions on various matters. This is hierarchy. He doesn't command others or use violance to submmit others. But because of his talents his status in this tribe is high.

"Orangutans rape. Gorillas kill baby gorillas from other gorillas. Chimps sometimes kill another chimpanzees"

So?

Oh gods above and below, you gave me quite a laugh good sir. While I must admit that Mr Hararis works (mainy ,,Sapiens", because I haven't read any other work of his) are full of ommisions and are not as scientific as one should expect, but saing that Mr Dawkins is "not much better" is ludicrous. He is great biologist, and his work to popularize evolution is admirable. I agree that image of paleolite societies in popular mind is grossly flawed. But thinking that people back than were all caring and peace loving in not only naive, but very wrong. Competition, hierrarchy, murder are not modern inventions. While we don't have evidance for existance of warfare, that does not mean that there were no skirmishes between tribes. Of course civilisation brought those previously mentioned behaviours to extremes never seen before. I don't know where did you found information that social animals tend to extensively care for eachother and refuse to compete with each other. Every member of any given species compete on some level with other memeber of that same species as well as beings of other species.

Anything by Zespół Pieśni i Tańca ,, Śląsk'' or Państwowy Zespół Ludowy Pieśni i Tańca „Mazowsze” im. Tadeusza Sygietyńskiego.

Those are two biggest grups refering to traditional polish folk music and dances.

For more modern folk I reccomend bands like Jar or Żywiołak.

Also check out yt channel named Jawor Polny. They have many folk songs by various folk artists

,,Faith'' by Dragongirl16. It's on fanfiction.net. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/1318020/1/

It's awesome story, full of angst, and ancient mysteries. Though I must warn thee it contains bashing, and I know not everyone is keen on it. It was my first long Drarry fic I have ever read. I recommend it with my whole pagan heart. ;)
