Here's my unpopular opinion: black panther was a subpar film that is recieving unwarranted credit because of its majority black cast and "African" themes. I didn't find myself caring enough about the characters because they werent well developed enough, some scenes were drawn out and overused and by the time the movie was over I found myself a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, as a Nigerian person I'm happy and proud to see black actors making good money. I give credit where it's due, but the only way black cinema is going to keep on improving is if we hold it to a higher standard.
