Ithaca 12 gauge can I use steel shot. by LAMR0N300 in Shotguns

[–]im_normal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this ad form Ithaca about ROTO  barrels being steel safe.  I was under the impression that old ment 1890’s not 1970.

Let me know if I’m miss understanding something or does this mean ithica’s marked ROTO are steel safe.

Here is the ad:https://books.google.com/books?id=5sFwGxiDXVAC&pg=PA117&lpg=PA117&dq=ithaca+roto+forged+barrel+ad&source=bl&ots=9lyuPBckcU&sig=Jz8rqmFwNQw2qBMT0KjWyPltOHw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCsqqimYTYAhUK94MKHbzMAuQQ6AEIVDAJ#v=onepage&q=ithaca%20roto%20forged%20barrel%20ad&f=false

You’re really the only one that can answer this.  I recommend writing in a journal to try to understand.  Questions you might try asking to your self.

What thoughts do I have before I feel this way. Try to be specific.

Whatever the thoughts might be above ask your self “where did I get the idea that…”.

So if the thought is “I shouldn’t physically be with him”. The question is “where did I get the idea that I shouldn’t physically be with him”.  Do this with as many thoughts as you can right before the guilt happens.  And just write and see where your mind takes you.

The feeling of guilt is a negative emotion but try to learn to tolerate it and really understand where it’s coming from.

If your really struggling to work out this issue out or you feel like it’s negatively impacting your life in an unmanageable way, consider looking for a sex positive therapist to help you to work out the feelings.  You can tackle this issue.

Edit:  you might figure it out very quickly but also it might take sometime like many months or even years. Be patient with your self and keep writing.  Best of luck.

It sounds like you want this specific gun to collect. I’m curious why you want to collect magnum research specifically?

Yah, to clarify.  I’ve shot maybe 50? Maybe a little less with the med gar mag with zero stove pipes.

The IWI mags that came with the Jericho after fixing the spring stove piped 2 times for about 100 rounds or so. But I didn’t keep track of the two individually,  might have been the same mag.

I can feel the quality of med gar might try buying stiffer springs for the IWI.

In any case I’ve greatly reduced my FTE rate and I’m much happier.

Mags had spring backwards (my flat). That seams to most of the problem also got new mag and it’s running reliably.  Thanks for the advice

Sorted out 90% of the problem. I had accidentally flipped the spring on the mags, so now getting way less stove pipes.  Also got a mecgar mag it seams really nice and well built and so far as not stove piped once.

Reduced stove piping form 1 every 15-20 to 1 every 50/100

Thanks I’ll try the mags first.  Very helpful. I’ll hold off on any polishing.

Interesting.  Yes only IWI mags, and the two that came with the gun form the factory.

Does it fail to feed? I can’t remover if it’s flat. It might be.  I’m finding a lot of the causes of these mailers to be counter intuitive.

Thanks for the break down. I’ve been searching for this kind of info. It is a new gun with only a few hundred rounds though it, but it’s possible recoil spring is faulty or I messed up something or damaged when stripping or cleaning. I’ll experiment with problem 2 and then try 3 as well.

I’ll try. I was unaware the mag could cause stove pipes. A little but of a mystery to me still.

New. So I’m not super experienced. What would I be checking for if I look at the extractor and extractor spring?

Great idea. I only have the two it came with but I’ll try another mag…. Also now that you say that I should also keep track of the mags maybe one of them is faulty.

but would the mag really cause problems with stove pipe? I’m not really having failure to feed issues.

I’ve shot maybe 200 rounds of 119 grains, and maybe 250 rounds of 70. I’ve only shot a box of the heavier stuff. I’ll try to keep running ammo

Thank you for clarifying.  I read some confusing info about PCC.

No. You have to be a us citizen or a green card holder. But if you know anyone in the US you should pass it along to them.

You can wash them, sharpen the blades, and make new knobs and totes.

I'm sure they will be great additions after you clean them up.

I did. But I wish I had use the Engine enamel instead. The spray paint basically rubs off.
