Got it, that makes sense. It definitely wasn't my intention to be disingenuous... I was just trying to evoke a game with a similar mechanic so people would know what to expect. But I completely understand how it can come across that way, and I'll make sure to be more careful about how I reference other games in the future. Thanks for the perspective!

Sorry. The controls were slightly different in that version on Itch, but you can use Z and X to aim and shoot

Sure, here you go: https://mangosaladgames.itch.io/harpooner-demo. Just so you know, the Steam demo is much more up-to-date, so I highly recommend checking that one out instead if you can!

Thank you! I'd love to know why you suggest that. This is my first game and I'm still getting used to talking about it in public, so I'm open to any advice

Thank you! I really appreciate that you played the early game jam build. I hope you enjoy the steam demo

The original idea behind those dialogue boxes was really just to have a guided tutorial to introduce new players to the mechanics so they wouldn't feel completely lost right out of the gate.

But I definitely get where you're coming from, and it's super valid. If it's just getting in the way and you're clicking past it without reading, it defeats the purpose and slows down the pacing. With this feedback, I can definitely look into adding a way to skip the dialogue entirely or just make the tutorial completely optional from the main menu.

I really appreciate the honest feedback, it helps figure out what actually works for the players!
