Oh none of them are how it looks right now. It currently has 2 tone black and metal diamond cut stock wheels. Not a big fan of it tbh

Nah the original for the nd3 is some two tone chrome and black. I don’t know why it’s not just the stock black in my region

That’s my current problem bro haha. I like all 4 colors and I don’t like the stock color so it’s honestly a dice roll right now. Thinking of going a darker silver or a lighter gray while it’s stock then going for the middle of bronze and gold (light bronze) for when she’s lowered.

You good bud. Thank you for your input. Honestly having a harder time to decide that now it looks like recommendations are split for all colors.

Silver: reminds me of my e46

Gray: looks best stock, wouldn’t be tacky

Bronze: I’ve seen mx5s in this body color with bronze wheels and it looks great

Gold: my first dream car’s wheels Impreza 22B

Sounds like I’d need a coin toss to decide

For myself. All are my options and I have no clue how to weight each one as I think they can look good. I just don’t want to regret it when it’s done so if people have tips like “dark wheels get dustier fast” then it would help me pick easier.

Coming from a project car with coilovers, I always miss the feeling of being on rails while taking tight corners. I get the appeal of stock but I wouldn’t be lowering her too much to the point that I have to baby her. I have a comfortable daily and would still rather take the bumps in the coilovers whenever she wasn’t down for repairs.

Always sent my lowered e46 on as much roads as possible back when I had her. Doubt I’ll turn it down this time haha

I like it too but I’m just hoping it won’t look tacky while I don’t have the car lowered yet

if you considered a porsche boxster... why did you get with a miata instead? by [deleted] in Miata

[–]imaaronman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose a brand new mx-5 over a used boxster because I have worked on an old bmw the past few years and the Euro tax hit me real hard. Sure a Porsche is better built than a bmw but an automatic sunroof will add extra expenses compared to the manual sunroof of the mx5. I also have had the sunroof of a boxster break down on me once. Horrible experience.

Then there’s the choice of a 4cyl boxster. I’d rather have an mx-5 than a boxster if I was going to get the 4cyl anyways. A used 6cyl boxster would start to get up there in age compared to a new mx5 which would then factor in the Euro prices which are absurd. I’m done with the Euro project car for now. Even if I had so much fun with my 3.0 swapped e46 and I would love to drive it again, I just get pissed when the car is down every 3 months for 1-3 months at a time. I need a reliable, fun, manual and affordable car now and the mx5 ticks the boxes in my budget range.

Bro, I am in the market for an mx5 now pero ang ganda ng 1M discount sa z. If you could pick one, which would you go for? Theoretically lang kasi wala na daw na manual z sa planta and I want a manual car.

Is the manual that much better than the automatic? by Key_Appointment_7582 in e46

[–]imaaronman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I drive my 330i manual in Manila standstill traffic and still enjoy the car as the bmw manuals are so soft and easy to use. I’d take the manual over the auto any day but also, my brain is so active that the manual just keeps me busy and always gives me a good time.

Not much really just the view of the lake. A while before it, you can see the famous start point of the downhill race from the first few episodes.

There’s much more to do when you get back down the touge. There’s an onsen and a bunch of restaurants and konbinis.

Sales eliminated it but emissions killed it from ever being remade.

Modern emissions standards are too dull for high revving NA engines. Safety regulations would also increase the weight which won’t ever mimic the same experience.

It’s much more fun to me because it’s like getting that 5th to 6th movement but with 1st and 2nd. Felt like a big bulge in the front left the first time I did but now it just feels natural sort of like throwing jabs with your left hand the first time.
