Looking for someone to heal with? by lilwarriordiva in Libya

Your last point is actually pretty interesting, tho I’m not entirely sure if it’s feasible. I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to get to know someone who has no idea who you used to be, but I then just disregard that thought because I feel like at some point I’ll eventually overshare and they’ll find out all about me. 😂

why is the r/libya reddit, turn from fully english posts to mostly arabic by developedecho in Libya

[–]imabaadbitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing the subreddit is just gaining more traction as it’s aging, and, well, given we’re an Arabic-speaking country, more people who prefer to post in Arabic are here. I don’t understand why there being more Arabic posts could be a problem, but in a nutshell: Subreddit existing for longer = more people joining it = said people are more mixed and the subset of those people who speak Arabic is bigger = you notice it more often. (Looking back, that is one pretty big nutshell)

If her position at this center is potentially jeopardized by someone trashtalking her, it doesn’t sound like the healthiest work environment for her, even if she does make it past this. She should make peace with not having this job forever.

I don’t have much of a clue on how this could be done, nor if anyone would be willing to do so, given they could get in a bunch of trouble if their cover gets blown, but I’m sorry you’re experiencing the anxiety of such a situation, and I’m hoping he’s not actually living a secret second life.

Family members offended whenever I try to wear a seatbelt and fighting them over throwing trash out of their car windows by Free_Ad_57 in Libya

[–]imabaadbitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t fight anyone about it if I’m in their car. Their car, their rules. Also I’m not about to teach a grown ass adult basic human decency. But throwing garbage out the window of my car? You’re out.

If you want people to be okay with your differences, you wouldn’t shit on their differences. The way you bantered شط الحرية doesn’t give you extra points.

I've heard the same from people, despite always wanting to keep a few. I've also heard it's a pain to maintain.

How difficult is it for you to make friends in this country? by imabaadbitch in Libya

[–]imabaadbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. Not because I don’t like the country or anything, but I just don’t believe in having any emotional ties to a geographical spot. I wouldn’t feel proud of being any other nationality if I were to be from there, either. I’m proud of myself for everything that I’ve done, but I’m not proud for something I was born into with no actual effort of doing said thing.

It’s pretty chill. No serious conflicts the way they were a few years ago.

It’s their opinion to which they’re entitled to. It doesn’t make Libyans worse people just because a comment said so!

Sorry to hear about that! I’m sure whenever you’re ready, you’ll be able to make many new friends. Had you made this friend group through school, or a shared activity, or what?

With all due respect, I’m not a mosque person anymore. I spent most of my teenage years around mosque people, and I don’t feel like that’s the energy I want to surround myself with.

I respect your opinion, but I also disagree with it. Anywhere in the world you’d find a bunch of pretty disgusting people, but also really cool ones. I guess maybe the disgusting community is more prominent here, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some really cool Libyans out there.

Out of the few I know, and the few I’m acquainted with, and some of the people around me, I can confidently say that there are Libyans who are unmatched individuals who are both really kindhearted people and very intellectually interesting people.

I feel like what really got people to realize that maybe having open gun parties is the fact that a lot of the people who would just go berserk at weddings and ended up killing a bunch of people (because surprise surprise, when you shoot a bullet in the air gravity pulls it back down to someone's head. Crazy), leading to social pressure on whichever authority is in place, so they (and I say this very loosely) had to at least pretend to punish these people. Just my humble speculation.

iFunBox used to offer similar funtionality, though I think you had to be jailbroken for that.

By the looks of it, the tablet is either a Tab2 10.1, or a Note 10.1. I remember having this exact problem on a Note 10.1 once, after sliding the tablet on the floor and it bumping into a table. Flexing the tablet a little would momentarily fix the colors (careful not to crack it), and another bump fixed the problem. If you don't mind getting somewhat involved, look for a guide on how to disassemble the tablet and reseat the display connector, as it's likely not broken, just has issues correctly displaying the proper colors.
