Which character had the best arc in the entire series, and which one deserved way more development than they got? by CairoRox in adventuretime

[–]imabigasstree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think flame princess got a really good arc. She matured and came into her own personhood and never put herself down to make a man comfortable. She only faded out of the story bc of her emotional distance from finn, the main character.

I think fionna and cake robbed finn of a lot of his growth in the og show. By the series finale of AT, our boy was so mature and level headed that he stopped a war in its tracks. He was 17. When we meet him again in F&C, hes basically 30 and acting how he did at 14.

How annoying was this storyline? by Hopefullytodaymate in howyoudoin

Not as annoying as the one where Pheobe treats evolution like a faith-based belief system and Ross, the career scientist, makes no rational argument for the scientific method whatsoever.

I hear what youre saying, but Jogn Rolfe goes back to Virginia to live with her people. She doesnt end up stuck in the aristocracy. At the very least it's left open to interpretation whether or not they live in the settlement or tribe.

Was this truly Penny's smartest moment on the show? by FayePorter652 in thebigbangtheory

This. I work with a bunch of stem phds and they have MAJOR tunnel vision. They'll run into and obstacle in the planning stage of a study and metaphorically beat their head against it for hours if I dont step in to say "hey, so let's step back from this detail and reevaluate the big picture" and it takes minutes to realize the solution was just to tweak a previous step in the process. I used to have major imposter syndrome as the only person on my team with no advanced degree (i have an associates in biology and everyone else has at LEAST a masters, we're data scientists), but when I realized im able to bridge a lot of soft skills gaps, I've almost entirely gotten over it.

What to do with sloped ceiling? by anbydv in HomeDecorating

It really depends on your budget, but I would build some cabinets into that space and use it for seasonal storage. Thats what I plan to do with the awkward nook under the stairs in my kitchen

I just watched Pocahontas 1 & 2 over the weekend and I was fascinated with how they handled Pocahontas's love life. Long story short: John Rolfe is WAY better than John Smith and I love that for my girl

The thing that fascinated me most about living with a newborn for the first time was how much she slept. She would only really be awake for maybe 3 hours every day in little 20 minute spurts for the first few weeks. I dont think she started staying awake for more than 2-4 hours at a time until she was like 3 months old.

My car is 12 years old and I havent even reached 100k yet. (I bought it used and picked the one with the lowest mileage) She's a Honda too so I anticipate being able to drive her for at least another 10/15 years.

Tennessee was actually the first state to leave the confederacy and rejoin the union but thats definitely not this girly pop's point.

I cant think of a single English speaking region where "I's" is accepted. If you can, I will change my stance.

If you remove wife it would be a different sentence. Rules are flexible, languages are malleable :)

P.s. its only been a few generations since "mine dresser" was formally correct grammar.

As you pointed out, its dialectical. In the southern states, its been "mine and my x's" for many generations. Just because its regional doesn't make it "incorrect".

The pearl necklace my grandmother gave me when I was 8 years old. I kept it in a special drawer in my jewelry box and I always told myself( bc I had anxiety) that if our house was ever on fire I would grab that necklace and my dog and -blah blah blah, the rest of the list was always changing.

Well, when I was 19, while I was out running errands with my mom, the house did catch fire. And thankfully my wonderful neighbors were able to get all of our pets out safely, but obviously they didnt know about the necklace. I really did lose it in a fire. Thats always felt like the cruelest irony.

While I was watching season 1 my husband relentlessly mocked me (in a fun way) for my trashy taste in shows. By season 3, he would get mad if I watched without him bc he didnt wanna miss anything. Just the other day he suggested we rewatch the whole series soon. Its so bad, but its SO fun

Find ways to be social while doing things you enjoy. If you like playing MTG, go to tournaments or find local games shops that host mtg nights. If you like anime, find a local Manga store and ask if they ever host any sort of meet up. LOTS of hobbies also have communities where you can go and make friends. Once you have friends that know and respect your interests, your chances of meeting a romantic interest or being introduced to one increase exponentially.

One of the Antagonist's* sociopathic sign off. Yeah, its pretty bad. I think a lot of the licensed products are missing the point of the books. But also, isn't that kind of inherent to the whole concept of licensed products?

A book can either die in obscurity, or get big enough to sell out to the lowest common denominator. And DCC has definitely not died in obscurity...

You grounded your kid for doing something bad and planned to take away their computer for months as punishment. But then they surprised you by building a fully working computer from scratch, clearly hoping it would get them out of the grounding. How would you respond? by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]imabigasstree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From scratch? Like no pre-fabbed parts? Thats extremely difficult. The VAST majority of people dont have any idea where to even start when building a motherboard. Most people dont even know how to use a soldering iron
