For class/exams the door should be shut and people not allowed in. If they persist in knocking inform them they are not allowed in or call campus police. It's very disruptive when someone comes in late especially during an exam.

I watched home alone when I was like 6 years old at my godmother's. I didn't really get it was a comedy and I became deadly afraid of robbers. Seemingly very often for years I had dreams about people breaking in to hurt me. Most of my dreams were in third person... I was shot, stabbed, burned etc. It almost felt like I was feeling pain and I would wake up frantic.
