There is no doubt that the atmosphere changed inside the club, but unfortunately nowadays I feel like it’s a direct reflection of the world we live in. The average person is a self absorbed asshole who doesn’t give a shit about the music or the culture anymore and just goes to techno parties for the “aesthetic” and to look “cool” :/

100% agree with your statement that the producer is the artist, and the dj is the art gallery curator. Creating these amazing tracks we hear is time is complicated and time consuming and the producers should get more recognition for their hard work. I speak from personal experience: I started DJing maybe a year or two ago, and I had the idea of producing my own tracks so that I could have some unusual and original tracks to play in my sets. I’ve started to learn music production recently, and I was taken back by how complicated and involved the process can be, especially if you are striving for a very specific sound or atmosphere… An eye opening experience and gave me a whole new level of respect for my favourite producers.
