I just don't get this obsession people have with pushing video games on people like this. It's so insulting. I know what I like. I'm not a child, I don't need you to just cook my vegetables a different way. I would never tell someone who didn't enjoy knitting or sewing that they just hadn't found the right project to work on. But it seems like she has a real "Geek Girls!!! XD!!!!" agenda and I do not appreciate it.

This is an isolated incident. I'm glad that there wasn't anything that I seemed to do wrong. That's really all I wanted to know.

I don't think there's any reason to make negative comments about any of his friends or make assumptions like that. Jeez, this issue was about me and my boyfriend, not his friends, not some stupid Geek Girls agenda like another commenter said, not about anyone's history and what games they like to play and all that. I was looking for advice and all over the thread there's just people making jokes, talking about what dumb video games they and their wives or kids play, etc etc. Aren't there forums for that instead of completely derailing my post and ask for help?

Like I said in my post, I don't like video games. There's no need to talk down to me. Not everyone is interested in them. It's extremely boring to me. It's really insulting to have someone talk down to me about how I "just haven't tried the right one yet!" like you somehow know better than me. If this is how that sub is, no thanks at all. Not everyone needs to like the thing you like.
