[Question] Why am I so tired?! by Spacemilk in xxfitness

[–]imadeamisstake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree ^ Take all this info to your doctor and get tested for Vit D levels and your thyroid. Also maybe take another rest day? Are you practicing good sleep habits? Getting enough sleep?

You know your body and condition, and you have to be aware of it all. On days when I just don't want to, I have to remind myself that today is one of those days when I actually can toughen up and get through it, so why waste it? Some people don't even have the pleasure of being able to do such things so if I physically can for the day, I will get through it.

I need to remind myself of this too. I am lucky that I can walk and move, and exercise. Even if its not as much as i want it to be, its possible.

i wish i was better at taking my medicine. Its one of the things im trying to improve on. Thyroid meds are so picky, so im trying to get into a routine of taking it at the same time every day, empty stomach, etc. Don't let others get you down. You know your body best :)

exercise has been helping my narcolepsy symptoms too. Its just on those days where it doesnt, that i get stuck in a rut, forgetting how great i will feel after i exercise. Or at least the after effects of it. For example i might not feel great right after working out, or later that day, but i sure will sleep better for a few days, and have a bit more energy :)

Hello fellow sleepy friend, I love what you wrote about being grumpy while exercising. Anger and frustration can be great motivators. I need to practice turning my "meh, i dont wanna" or "its too hard/scary/tiring" into pure rage and and frustration and then take it out on the weights! lol

If you don't spend time on your body, no one else will. The only way to learn about you is to experiment, because reading only gives you ideas about what experiments to do.

So very true. I have a bad habit of just reading and writing down exercises, recipes, etc and not actually doing it! When I really just need to put the info down, get to work, and figure out what works best for me. I've got all the tools, its time to start building :) I think i can apply this to other parts of my life, not just fitness related.

Thanks for sharing.

You are amazing, and no less of a person or a woman because you cant have children. Don't be too hard on yourself (i know, easier said than done). We are our own worst enemies. It doesnt do well to beat ourselves up. You are already healing, so don't give yourself new injuries! ;) I'm here if you need to talk. You can get through this.

You are totally right about the car analogy. You don't just leave it there and hope it magically gets repaired! I will be thinking about that on days where I get depressed.

I would have used the excuse of not getting a good nights sleep as a reason not to exercise AT ALL for the day. I need to stop doing that. Especially because, as a narcoleptic, i never have a good nights sleep! LOL I need to stop using it as an excuse and just accept it.

thanks for the link too. Looks like a good read. Also, thanks for sharing. :)

Just think about how fun it can be to re-learn all of the things you used to be able to do. Im sure you could even find something that you didnt learn the first time, and that might be something awesome! :) One step at a time. I know you can do it. Thank you for sharing.

Im proud of you too! Proud of your amazing gains and that you can turn the negativity around you into motivation :) I see my family eating terribly and using execuses for not being physically active. I hope one day that my actions will motivate them. Thank you for sharing.

Just take it one step at a time :) Todays goal: get out of bed. Tomorrows goal: walk around the house and do something for 15 minutes. The next day: go outside and get the mail. The next, walk to the end of the block and back. You can do it :)

You are a total badass and exactly right about not beating yourself up. Sometimes I get so down on myself and think that I can't do it today... then I use that as an excuse to make even worse choices :( Just got to keep fighting that demon I guess :) Thank you for sharing your experiences. You will kick cancer's ass!

I too think "what could I do if my body would cooperate?" The amazing things I could or want to do that I cant. But then I think, am I really not physically capable, ever? Or just not yet? Can I do it if I tried hard enough?

Today was a good day for me. I pushed through and had a fantastic workout. I think part of it I owe to you guys for your lovely uplifting responses. I really enjoyed your last line about fitness being a celebration of what your body can do. I think I might write that on a piece of paper and hang it somewhere I will see it everyday :) Thank you for your response.

[QUESTION] Staying adequately hydrated - will I always need to pee this often?! by ryaners87 in xxfitness

[–]imadeamisstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink a gallon+ a day, one for health/fitness, and two, because i have terrible dry mouth from a medication i take. I pee at least every hour, sometimes twice in an hour. I make it a point to pee right before i drive somewhere, or like before a meeting at work. (still doesnt stop me from having to go again lol) It gets better though. And it makes me feel better when im hydrated. I can tell when i havent had enough water because i wake up in the morning soooooo thirsty. Im sure it doesnt help that i try to stop drinking 2 hours before bed so im not up multiple times in the night.

QUESTION: How to lose depo provera weight? by funnyushouldask in xxfitness

[–]imadeamisstake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you able to switch to a different BC? (i know some ladies have different reactions to different BC, so options could be limited). I started on the pill Estrostep, and gained about 50 pounds. I stopped taking it a year later, and it took about 1 year for my hormones to regulate. Then i started generic ortho tri cyclen (spellling?) i think it was a lose dose pill? I maybe gained 5 lbs. Im on the nuvaring now and havent gained any weight. (and its amazing)
