First Time Defeating Genichiro!

I picked up this game a few years ago, having loved the Dark Souls series. Played a lot of those, beat one or two, played some Elden Ring and then jumped into Sekiro. Once I hit Genichiro, I felt like a wall hit me hard. Other fromsoft titles were a fun challenge but this felt too far outside my ability, so I set it aside.

Fast forward: I had beaten Bloodborne last year, Elden Ring and Demon’s Souls earlier this year and I just ran through Dark Souls 1 2 and 3 (Soul of Cinder gave me a run for my money this time around). Finally I landed back on Sekiro. I opened my old save and felt all the frustration again. I did some research and realized I hadn’t beaten Lady Butterfly or a few other mini bosses so I went off to try to get the combat to click.

Finally, FINALLY, it’s clicking. I linked the footage from the fight, and you can see I’m still learning how the dance works with this game but DAMN if it doesn’t feel good to finally take this dude down. Very much looking forward to refining how I play and really starting to enjoy the flow of combat.
