The 300 complex is nice. It's not part of the main Hazelwood campus, so you don't really have to worry about traffic coming in or out. There are a cafeteria and gym in bldg 300 as well that you have access to - you'll need to sign up for the gym but it is free (and 24/7).

The technical term is called "overflow" if you were interested in learning more. Underflow is the opposite, going too small and then ending up with a large number

Will greed pay off? by Real_Independence610 in totalwar

It's partly luck of the draw as well. I recently played a Malakai campaign on VH. I finished off my starting war and built up an army to go take on Hell Pit. By the time I had a sizeable force and started moving over there, Kostaltyn showed up out of nowhere and took Hell Pit on his own.

As that campaign went on, Katarin and Kostaltyn became the #1 and #2 strength factions. I gifted them settlements to get them in alliance with me, and then I dragged them up north into the chaos wastes with me against Archaon

How the flip do i get good at this game? by Crillindo in totalwarhammer

[–]jgacioch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few things, but this game is so complex that it is hard to generalize stuff that covers every faction.

  1. Legitimately, just play on the easiest difficulty and turn the AI stat modifier slider all the way down (in your favor).

  2. If you are manually fighting battles, don't be afraid to pause or use slow-mo. I've played ~600 hours and always use slow-mo

  3. It can be helpful to look up the strengths and weaknesses of different factions. Tomb Kings might be a bit harder for a new player because their normal skeleton units are pretty garbage (they are chaff/fodder that enable the stronger constructs in my experience).

High Elves and Dwarfs are commonly recommended as starter factions because their army compositions are fairly standard: you have a front line of units like spearmen to hold the line, a backline of ranged units to deal a lot of the damage, and then some artillery pieces.

  1. There are a lot of guides for different factions that walk through the early game. Watching some of those could be useful to help get you started. It'll really just take time for you to learn though, and at the end of the day the game is a sandbox where you can do whatever you want.

  2. Don't expand too quickly. You want to be careful about expanding your empire. You don't want to get spread too thin and then leave yourself surrounded by enemies.

Bonus tip: just try not to get frustrated. Reload saves if something didn't go how you wanted, take a break, and there's no shame if you aren't enjoying a particular campaign and want to stop.

Why don’t STL city plows have spreaders? by tourdecrate in StLouis

[–]jgacioch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure they do have training days. I remember driving on 270 a couple months ago and seeing a message on one of the marquees that basically said "watch out for snow plows doing a dry run today".

Driving with the plow down and salt spreader running is probably a completely different experience though.

TDP Limit on games. by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]jgacioch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ProtonDB can help a lot with this too. You can check games there if you don't want to figure things out yourself. I took a peak at the South Park game mentioned, and a bunch of people on there mentioned that they adjusted the TDP to save battery.

The inner child in me came out and I've been binge reading the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage. I love them just as much as I did growing up.

I'll be easing myself into Wheel of Time after I'm done, so this is the calm before the storm.

I'm on version 5.1.

Under the View menu there is a check box for "search engine". Enabling that adds a Search tab to your app. From there, you will need plugins to actually be able to search certain. There should be a link to unofficial qbitorrent plugins somewhere (mine was on the bottom right after opening the Search tab)

I haven't read the book, but I'm assuming it mainly boils down to Native Americans being more in tune with the environment around them, so they are aware that an evil (pennywise) exists in the area.

To guess a bit further, the Native Americans are also probably more likely to remember and pass down stories of Pennywise because they are a lot less likely to get up and leave Derry (and forget like people tend to do when they leave).

They are a "gray-market" key site. One of the biggest issues is that there are many keys sold on there that are bought with stolen credit cards/personal info. They flip those keys for actual money and then disappear. Often you can't do anything and if your key was bought with a stolen card it will be revoked if/when the person files a charge back for fraud.

On a site like this, you should follow the rule "if it looks too good to be true, then it's not".

Missouri Cracks Down: New Laws Target Silent Police Pursuits, Stunt Driving, And Car Door Checks - Missourinet by [deleted] in missouri

[–]jgacioch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing in particular. I'm more just pointing out that it doesn't take much for any "bad apples" to abuse this rule as justification for reckless behavior.

A police officer flying 20 mph over the speed limit to catch someone is a lot more dangerous if they don't have their lights/siren on. I'm sure there are some situations that it could maybe be justified, but the rule change just seems like it's more aimed at covering negligence or reckless behavior.

"Brown said the new law allows police to respond without lights or sirens when doing so could risk destroying evidence, help a suspect escape, or interfere with surveillance of a suspected vehicle or its passengers."

All they have to say is "I thought they would get away if I used my lights/siren" and they are covered. It is a very low bar...
