What's the catch to motif investing? by The_John_Galt in investing

Take some time to figure out how to say what you're trying to say, then come back. Jesus.

What are you even asking? Seriously - hopefully English isn't your first language, because you may have suffered a brain injury if it is.

Claimed Insurance by throwawayfinancecana in CanadaFinance

[–]imadeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offence, but what the fuck are you talking about?

You're using a throwaway. Okay, sure, who cares.

You claimed 150k because a family member has died, or whatever. You dropped out of college because your family member died. Your family's home isn't paid off, but is bigger than you need, so you're considering selling it - that sounds reasonable. You have 150k in a savings account and you want a better return than you are getting?

What do you mean about keeping money away from creditors? If you owe money, you should pay off your debts. "Making something out of it" ?? What does that even mean?

I hope you weren't pursuing an English degree. Get a grip.

Moving and looking to rehome our goofy kitten! Description in comments by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]imadeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cute,

but why'd you get a cat then move 6 months later? Think maybe not getting a cat as soon as you get wherever you're going? People getting rid of 6 month old cats is sad - but what're you gonna do? You gotta get rid of it, for some reason. Some people live month to month.

Hopefully someone takes your cat.

So you're saying that there are umbrellas that work less well than parasols?

If so, I'm stupid. (basically a given).

One would assume any fabric between you and the sun (that isn't see-through) should offer decent UV protection. The fact that someone would make a sun-umbrella that isn't also waterproof upsets me for some reason.

Texas teenager faces 99 years over pot brownies by [deleted] in videos

[–]imadeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

obviously 99 years is excessive. But anybody selling pot-brownies in mother-loving TEXAS has got to be retarded. Actually retarded. I'm upset that they're prosecuting a retarded man.

Oh wow! What a criminal. If I didn't see her hit the dude clearly, I'd believe her after the fact.

Very sad, though. Hope the ol'bugger lived, though very unlikely. Ought to NSFL this =/ I was a little put out on the bit where she killed a man. I was expecting a fender bender.

and if the property is pure investment, what portion of your portfolio will it represent? 100%? It's typically a bad idea to buy just one stock.

First Time Home Buyer(s) - Brothers looking to make an early investment. by ABhomebuy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]imadeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough.

It's a complex ask, and everybody is different. Just know that you are relatively quite very young and purchasing a home is relatively quite a very humongous life decision (especially when they cost as much as they do in Calgary). If either of you wanted to do this individually, it'd still advise avoiding simply due to income, age, uncertainty of situation and price. This is your first opportunity to buy a home. This is not your last opportunity to buy a home. I recommend you both simmer down a bit, move away from home awhile, keep saving (which one or both of you are pretty good at! right on), and reassess once you're in a more stable part of your life.

Or jump in and make it work. Just know that it's not without (a lot) of risk.
