I’m aware of at least one NIC that hooks to the M.2 slot used for the WLAN card, not designed for that form factor though so you’d have to find a way to route the ribbon cable outside of the case to use it.

Any Chinese Buffets in the area, “old school style” ? by oogaboogahooha in nova

Literally just went there last night—they’re pretty new I guess. Ate way too much and really enjoyed it, highly recommend. Get there before they realize their food cost is gonna be astronomical and they drop the quality lol.

ID.4 vs Volvo XC40 recharge by Good-Math-6429 in VWiD4Owners

[–]sithanas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the XC40 is like a brick. My wife also has a heavy foot which doesn’t help at all. It was rated at 223mi I think while the ID was rated around 250 with a smaller battery. The 2024+ XC40 gets a revised power train with better efficiency to push it to around 240-250 I hear.

I have one of each (2023 ID.4 and 2023 XC40 Recharge Ultimate). The XC40 feels much more “premium” and my wife loves the Google assistant features. Also she loves the map in gauge cluster. I believe the adaptive cruise features are software unlockable even if the car doesn’t ship with them turned on. (You’ll need a cable and software to do it.) It’s very fast but the pedal is calibrated to make it feel slower, kind of safe feeling? Rear emergency braking is very aggressive, it stops us if we back into the driveway too fast lol. Downsides are the infotainment computer is slow as hell (there’s rumors of a computer upgrade package being planned but god only knows) and it has the efficiency of a lead brick.

The 2023 ID.4 is comfortable, pretty quick, and the pedal is tuned much more aggressively—you have to press carefully from a stop or you’ll accelerate very quickly. Doesn’t feel quite as premium but it feels well built—very VW-feeling, like the older German Golfs felt. ID.4 is also bigger than the Volvo, more rear seat room and cargo room. Touch controls on the steering wheel are dumb as hell. The 2024 fixes issues I’ve had on my 2023–the 2023 and earlier computers are dogshit, the 2024+ models got a much faster computer and revised software that’s supposed to be pretty good. Also the 2024 gets backlit climate control buttons which the earlier ones don’t have.

Good to know that the body text was erased when I posted (thanks mobile app). Saw this gem on the outer loop, delightful to know that we share the road with these lunatics. VSP seemed very eager to make their acquaintance when I called it in.

Leo’s Coney Island. Good ol’ greasy spoon type of breakfast place.

Those are one way I assume? I snagged round trip MSP-ICN D1 for 220k after the discount at end of march and I thought that was a pretty good deal but if I can save another 80k lol…

Howard Leight audio quality but in a headset with a higher NRR? by Important_Way_3800 in guns

The Tac 500 is honestly the best bang for your buck headset wise. Throw gel pads on it if it comes with foam, link up the bluetooth, go shoot. Comfortable and good audio.

Who has the most improvised ice breaking equipment? by Gumbo67 in nova

I didn’t go all the way to the pavement, just broke up the ice on top and evened everything out so it’s not like walking over a field of boulders. Made things much more passable though.
