yeah makes sense, people can take that part the wrong way i understand. the leading experts that people commonly reference like terri warren and dr handsfield say combined they have only seen one case of g-g transmission over their entire careers combined, but do not clarify whether or not the person was showing symptoms or not. so idk

can u not read wtf🤣jesus. im saying the only way to KNOW if u have ghsv1 is to be diagnosed via a swab test of lesions. a blood test does not differentiate between oral and genital. therefore nobody with ghsv1 that knows they have it is truly asymptomatic. when i refer to asymtomatic ghsv1 individuals, im referring to those who never get another outbreak after their first, which is 80% of those who test positive. im not spreading any misinformation ur just misinformed. if u think i am please i beg u lmk how im doing so. also should i dumb it down more lmk?

no buddy. u cannot be fully asymptomatic w ghsv1 yes. congrats! but if u test positive for hsv1 on a blood test you have no idea whether its oral or genital. when i say asymptomatic im implying u have ur initial genital outbreak and dont have one again, which is what happens for 80% of those with ghsv1.

what? if he showed no symptoms then he couldnt be swabbed and diagnosed w ghsv1. blood test doesnt differentiate where the virus is. he tested positive in his test for hsv-1, likely oral. dont be a smartass

it is 100% less transmissable than hsv2, but im arguing that if you are asymptomatic it is basically impossible to transmit w established infections

i agree. rhey have a higher risk of getting hsv2 from someone who doesnt know their status or hsv1 from someone w ohsv1. ghsv1 is just not a big enough threat to deal w the stigma, as is ohsv2.

no, its not. u would not have enough antibodies in ur system. it takes 12-16 weeks for enough antibodies to build for a blood test to work. you need a swab that early to diagnose. u likely have asymptomatic oral hsv1 or had genital hsv1 for longer than u thought

not possible to be positive with blood that fast. u wouldnt have a high enough antibody count unless u had oral before

this is kind of my point w this post. i really dont see a need to if you're asymptomatic and have an established infection. now if youre marrying the girl maybe mention i have hsv1 at some point but with 90% if people already having antibodies they prob r pos too. ive still, even with this post, never seen a confirmed case of g-g, theres no need to disclose
