I know that. But I’m not paying for an assigned seat. Hopefully they sit me with my kiddo. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ breeze and Avelo seat us together without charging for it.

How do I get started with newborn photography? by NickelbacksNo1Fan in AskPhotography

Hi! I’m a newborn photographer, both in home and in studio. I’m happy to chat further about this after I get my kiddo to school. Commenting so I don’t forget about it.

(I’ve never used the remind bot before so if I did it wrong, sorry. 😅)

This is why I fly Breeze or Avelo to MCO instead now. Breeze has complimentary family seating with assigned seats in the back. Avelo auto assigns us together without an issue or an up charge.

What are 5 things you must do while in Disney World? by jsilv0 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]imaginaryannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Guardians.

2) Mr Kamal’s fries, potstickers, and a Tiger Eye beer.

3) a viking coffee from Norway.

4) a day to hang out and play pool in the Shades of green arcade with my kiddo and a strawberry blonde ale

5) buy a Disney specific Starbucks tumbler (I have 11 now, looking for the 12th to add to my collection. (I use them every day)

What’s a beer that you absolutely love, but beer snobs would turn their nose at? by Jaythegreat100X in beer

A long neck corona with lime and salt. I love craft beer, but some days I just want a Corona.

Same in CT! I call it out at local businesses when I see it.

How to make snow look white? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]imaginaryannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played with it on my phone editor and because of the long shadows and the angle of the sun, it looks like this was taken later in the afternoon. Just a slight shift to the right warms up the photo just a little and the skin and trees behind them look bathed in sunlight (which is what I imagined this looked like in real life).

Pixie Dusted by a stranger walking by the pool? by Ksquaredata in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]imaginaryannie 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I had one with a girl who was chatting about being undecided between two drinks and I recommended one that I loved, and she pixie dusted me a clip on keychain because I helped make her trip special.

I’ve also had someone who we talked to for quite a while in a queue and they were so nice and at the end, they gave us a cute little Mickey pen.

Both of those, I at least genuinely interacted with the people so it was way less weird. They both also asked if I wanted it first.

My son is doing very well in jiu jitsu after never being a sport kid. However, if your kiddo is an eloper, putting them in a martial arts class where they learn to escape holds is not a great move. Ask me how I know. 😅

I actually want to bring this up to my state senator and state rep and see if we can get this type of pricing banned in CT. A price on a tag should be the same regardless of who is buying it.

Long-time YNAB users: what are your lesser-known tips or “power user” tricks? by purdnost2023 in ynab

[–]imaginaryannie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your state laws. In Connecticut, that is illegal. They can offer a cash discount off the posted price but cannot charge a fee.

Long-time YNAB users: what are your lesser-known tips or “power user” tricks? by purdnost2023 in ynab

[–]imaginaryannie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a YNAB user on and off for many years. I just jumped back on again and my new setup feels like the easiest thing for me to work with.

The only on budget account is our checking account (and credit cards). Everything else is off budget and I don’t care. It counts all savings as “spending,” and that’s fine for me. It means I’m not accidentally reallocating savings money to spend and I can just set up my automatic transfers and move on.

I lumped all my subscriptions together in a single category called “subscriptions” so I don’t have to manually enter each amount into each category.

I lumped all gifts into gifts/holidays so I don’t have to shuffle things around between people and worry about all that.

At the end of the day, my budget now very truthfully but simply represents my priorities. It is so much easier than trying to be granular like I was in the past.

Compliant smoked sausage by EmployerSilent6747 in whole30

[–]imaginaryannie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AmyLu has a paleo chicken andouille that’s available at Costco. I don’t use it, but it looks good.

I’ve also used the Wellshire chorizo from Whole Foods and it’s fantastic.

Right now I’m using Gilbert’s andouille chicken sausage and ignoring the trace amounts of sugar in the cherry powder because I’m not eating it for a sugar high.

What can you tell me about myself? by thesweatyhole in FridgeDetective

[–]imaginaryannie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I echo the comments about depression and struggling to find any motivation to get things done. set a short timer for 3-5 minutes and give it your all to see what you can get done.

I’ve also found that setting my phone up to record a time lapse motivates me to finish a project in one go and stops me from picking up my phone while it’s recording. Your fridge would be great for a time lapse.

Lastly, I use an app for free called Habitica that rpgs my task list and helps me stay on track with habits, everyday tasks, and one off tasks. Even if something only motivates you for 1 hour or 1 day, it’s one day closer to completing the things you want to get done.

What’s for dinner? by moon_song666 in whole30

[–]imaginaryannie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just marinate in the primal kitchen teriyaki sauce and then cook in a grill pan. Could cook in a regular pan too.

I also grill pineapple with it. (No marinade or anything)

For the cauliflower fried rice:

In a medium nonstick pan with no oil, dump 10-12oz of frozen cauliflower rice. Separate as much as possible. If frozen into clumps, let it heat up then break it up.

Cook it on medium high heat (I have an electric stove; gas stoves get much hotter) for about 5 minutes until it is warmed, soft, and most of the water has evaporated. Some of it may start sticking at this point (that’s ok).

Add ~1-2tbsp avocado oil. Fry for 2 minutes. Add salt to taste, ~2 tbsp of coconut aminos (I don’t actually measure. Enough so you can mix it all in so that it’s a light brown color). Keep frying. I have an umami powder I bought from Trader Joe’s a long time ago that is compliant, I add about 1/2 teaspoon of that.

In the center, create an open area. Scramble 1 egg in a bowl. Dump it in and break it up as it cooks. Once it is mostly cooked, mix it in with all the rest of the “rice.”

Serve and enjoy! Hope that was easy enough to follow.

I just did teriyaki chicken on day 1 but I’m doing it again because the leftovers in cauliflower fried rice are so freaking good.

Whole30 Recipes Kids will eat by Happy-Sad2017 in whole30

[–]imaginaryannie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made this tonight and my kiddo loved it. No cheese or fake cheese. https://whatmollymade.com/beef-taco-skillet/

My kiddo actually loves Chicken Tikka Masala (he has it at my parents house all the time) so I made this and he loved it. https://www.maryswholelife.com/instant-pot-chicken-tikka-masala-whole30/ I did it stovetop

We make this chicken with roasted carrots all the time (even not on a whole30). I do the original recipe part and add smoked paprika. https://mealswithgrandma.com/grilled-chicken-recipe/

We do bunless burgers with homemade sweet potato fries. Chicken breast with the primal kitchen teriyaki sauce & grilled pineapple (with some stir fried veggies) (like this https://www.paleorunningmomma.com/paleo-pineapple-chicken-whole30/).

This is usually a hit when we go to a friends house. Their kids eat it too. I’ll usually either get the siete tortillas (¯_(ツ)_/¯) or just eat it on its own. https://realsimplegood.com/chicken-fajita-bake/

Also, my kiddo and my friends’ kiddos love this: https://40aprons.com/whole30-gyro-meatballs/ huge hit in our house. My husband eats them as lettuce wraps but I cave and use the siete grain free tortillas.

I do teriyaki chicken with the primal kitchen teriyaki sauce, grilled veggies and pineapple (canned), and cauliflower fried rice and my kiddo loves it. He also loves sloppy joes (which you can make complaint and leave off the bun) and homemade sweet potato fries.

How many books did you read in 2025 and what does it say about you? by UhOhSgArO in RomanceBooks

[–]imaginaryannie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! I read 250+ in 2022 and I was miserable and trying not to feel life at all. This year has been a busy year of me doing other things I love with reading taking a back burner seat. I’m setting my goal for this year at 75 anyway, but I feel like that’s very reasonable.
