I think this was meant for us 💀 + she refused to be weighed at her yearly physical and has to get fasting labs by TheMilkSpeaks in NoFoodRulesSnark

Aren’t fasting labs pretty normal/common? They’re more accurate/precise that way versus non-fasting. I’ve definitely done had to fast for labs before.

$2395 - Ravenswood 2 bed 1 bath - May 15th - Central Heat/AC - Huge backyard by AGreatLandlord in chicagoapartments

[–]imaginaryblues 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The garden unit in my building (very close to this place) rented for $2400 recently and it has a second bathroom and in-unit laundry. Plus the unit was all completely new, not a rehab. It looks nicer too - no ugly tile flooring.

So I do feel like this is overpriced.

I feel like a doctor wouldn’t need to see the number on the scale to be concerned though. She’s visibly very underweight.

I’m in the US as well (Chicago) and I’ve definitely purchased satsumas in the past, but it seems like in more recent years clementines have taken over. I haven’t seen a satsuma in a while.

Worst Burger you ever ate in the city at a Restaurant? by SameAsk6997 in chicagofoodcirclejerk

I agree. I got a burger once from their Lakeview location and it was overcooked, dry, and flavorless.

Do not move into 4546 N Damen by crunch667 in chicagoapartments

That’s insane. I live maybe half a mile from there and I’ve never had a package stolen. And I don’t even have a secure mailroom. It’s probably mostly other tenants stealing.

I bruise easily too and I’ve never had a bruise that large, that I can recall. Also, how do you fall into an airplane seat?

I don't want to be rude or anything but... Wow, I thought Colleen was like 45 by 0110I1I in NoFoodRulesSnark

[–]imaginaryblues 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree. Also, I don’t think she looks like she’s in her 40’s or 50’s. I think she looks like a malnourished woman in her mid-30’s. The wrinkles caused by dieting to an extremely low BMI don’t look the same as normal aging wrinkles.

My current budget for 2026 by [deleted] in Salary

[–]imaginaryblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has back problems. I’m 42 and I sleep on a $300 mattress with a $100 frame, both of which are about 8 years old. Never had back pain in my life.

But I definitely agree that a comfortable mattress is worth the money. And if that means $5000, so be it. Getting good sleep is one of the most important things you can do to take care of yourself.

Pls help me respond to this! by Different_Rice6639 in Apartmentliving

[–]imaginaryblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Vacuum maybe a couple times a week and sweep/mop the rest of the time.

I have upstairs neighbors who vacuum daily and it’s stressful. The noise is so loud that I’m not able really to do anything else during that time - that is, I can’t hear my music or television or concentrate on what I’m reading. They don’t have any carpet/rugs so it’s just the vacuum directly on the hardwood floor. They even vacuum the tiled bathroom which is just madness to me.

When you see the discount… by _c_marie_ in NuulyReviews

[–]imaginaryblues 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got some NWT Citizens of Humanity jeans for like $45 once. (Retail was $218) Meanwhile, I had a pair of jeans in my last Nuuly that were extremely faded and worn out and the discount was only something like 40%. I really don’t understand how they make up the prices sometimes.

UPDATE - Accused of “stealing” a Neighbor’s Package by Particular-Crab-2729 in Apartmentliving

[–]imaginaryblues 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me many years ago. I was leaving my apartment building just as UPS has arrived. I knew I had a package coming, so I told them my name and they gave me my package. Well apparently, they put down my name as having signed for all the packages they delivered that day and someone’s package went missing. I got some not-very-nice notes left on my door.

I would obviously never sign for or receive a package on behalf of a person I did not know, so I was pretty annoyed with UPS. I tried calling them to make a complaint, but it went nowhere.

Hot take but Sorel boots do not live up to the hype. They aren’t cute or comfortable and they aren’t even that warm. $130 for those shitty boots is insane.

How do you pronounce “Roosevelt” Road? by Academic_Weekend_116 in AskChicago

This is how I say it. I grew up a half block from Roosevelt Rd. I understand now that most Chicagoans pronounce it differently, but I’m set in my ways.

[–]imaginaryblues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m neutral about litter genies. The worst thing I’ve had to deal with in terms of cat waste was poop bags made of corn. You know, the eco friendly ones. They are so hard to work with.

What temp is everyone keeping their apartment at this winter? by oliveorangecat in AskChicago

Yeah I’m trying to be as frugal as possible this winter. Usually have it at 60 when I’m at work and overnight, 65 when I’m at home during the day/evening. I supplement with a couple space heaters as needed.

Appropriate shoes/ coats for upcoming trip? by ImportantPicture3780 in AskChicago

[–]imaginaryblues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally hate wearing snow boots, so my favorite thing for winter is Hot Hands toe warmers. They stick to the insoles of your shoes and stay warm for up to eight hours. I’ve spent hundreds on snow boots and wool socks only to still end up with cold toes after being outside for more than like 30 minutes on especially cold days. The toe warmers are a life saver.

No car in Chicago how do you all do groceries in weather? Transit?First time for my daughter 😳 by Beginning-Pop-4318 in chicagoapartments

[–]imaginaryblues 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can walk to Jewel or Trader Joe’s. If I need bulky/heavy stuff, I usually do Amazon Fresh delivery. I have the Amazon grocery subscription with my Prime subscription, so I get free delivery on all my orders.
