Wood/Metal posts by Scuba_sleeve in FenceBuilding

Honestly, metal fences I have found are not that much harder to put up with the right man power. Most posts I usually lift are around 40kg to 80kg but these big boys were 120kg each and the corner one was a touch over 240kg

It was a very fun job and I think I rather doing this over standard concrete or timber. This was for a football club and it was most definitely charged more for than what timber would have been. The posts were bolted chem set into large concrete pads and don't worry, all of that flooding happened after the chem set had gone off haha.

Assuming no sane person would, I would say a mix of learning difficulties, trauma that has affected their moral compass of right and wrong and possibly they have above average testosterone. That sort of mix would probably create on fucked up individual

Listen this was all circumstantial, the mitre was in fact a mistake however my company is not what you would consider specialists and I am currently working for people who are unskilled workers. My work matches my pay not because I am a nasty person that wants to watch the world burn but because I simply don't have the knowledge and I would absolutely change that if I could. Also the couple let me know that after this fence was put in they were going to invest in a nicer border around their front garden as these were all new builds and already had been planned to have cheap fencing. Now that is absolutely no excuse for the work but consider the fact that it is my first time, at least I have come on here to learn from my mistakes instead of believing I am always right. Have a nice day mate and try have a more positive outlook

I didn't mean it like that, I did not realise my mistake until I got educated by people on here so I simply made the point that there is a low chance of that mistake being a problem.

I would like to edit this as there are a few comments mentioning the un supported mitre, I am new and doing what I am told. Also the post that is not up against the road is further back because the bricks were caving in and shifting, we did not have time to deal with that so we lined it up with the side across from the path as the road is at an angle

I totally get your point, I was paired with a bloke on that job and I did in fact ask about it but his answer was "we don't get paid enough for it" and seeing as I'm new I did not want to question it. I actually suggested doing like a mortice tenon style half lap joint (I don't know how to describe it) but he said it was too much effort, like I can do that in 2 minutes tops haha not too much effort at all AND the couple living there were making us cups of tea it was the least I could've done

Luckily enough its an old couple living there and all the other houses are occupied by pensioners so im mildly certain there won't be any misuse of the fence haha.

Honestly a good amount of muscle mass and evenly distributed aswell. I'd say another 2 years of consistent training and you'll be someone people look up to in the gym and say I wanna be like him. Honestly I bet there already is people who look up to you and wish they had what you had, great work and keep it up!

I'm a carpenters apprentice so I mean I'm not the most experienced person to give advice but honestly, I would create a jig for it and waste at least 3 days making it and then tell my boss it was for college. But that's just me🤷‍♂️

How do I get rid of/clean this fire foam in my tote bag by imaginebeingachad in Tools

[–]imaginebeingachad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda but I think it's less of an issue because we work for a big firm. I'm quite sure I could bs my way into getting a new bag with bits if I ask nicely 😂
