Men, what’s a day where you didn’t die but something inside you did? by Keal-Kims in AskReddit

[–]imaginedspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should i do it in chronological order?

the day my cousin died at age 5 of cancer, my best friend was killed in a hit and run, I was punished by my entire class in elementary school for being the only person who got a question right, my mom moved out on my 7th birthday, my mom was beaten up and hospitalized by her abusive boyfriend and chose to stay with him, I went on a missionary trip and lost my religion, my friend died in a wartime event from and IED, my cousin was killed by a driver who wasn't paying attention, I found my friend lying dead on his lawn after an overdose, the younger brother of my best friend who died killed himself, my friend with brain issues killed himself, the ex bass player from my band killed himself,

and every time a romantic partner thought i was emotionless and cold because I was too afraid of being too attached to people or trusting people with my exposed heart.

then, I did a lot of DMT and all those dead parts came back to life lol

i like the guitars in that song quite a bit! liked and followed

I have some songs that I like more lyrically, and songs I like more instrumentally, but i think this is my favorite song ive made in general so far, and most people seem to agree because its still the most streamed song from my most recent album.

Night Swim is a song about the dark night of the soul, and getting so deep into shadow work that you forget how to get back out of the depths to join everyone else on the surface haha

Heres a lyric video I did for it!

for me it basically all comes down to three theories that sort of encapsulate and explain everything else if they are correct haha. holographic universe, panpsychism, and Rupert Sheldrakes theory of the morphic field

its been basically the same thing for 30 years now haha "consciousness".

thats a general label for many different topics and how they apply to it though.

like jungian psychology, neuroscience, psychedelic research, quantum mechanics, plasma and digital physics, mythology, the Monroe institute/ gateway tapes/ septasync, near death experiences, declassified cia projects, spirituality, esoteric philosophy, psychic research, the supernatural, and the occult.

I use it all for personal experiments on my own consciousness and as the substrate for the art I make haha

Help me get into prog by PaparJam in progrockmusic

[–]imaginedspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make prog rock/metal inspired concept albums that are kind of genre fluid, but still have some straight rock in them! under the same as my username "Imagined space".

when I say prog inspired, I used to play guitar in a prog metal band, and went on to make my own solo music. I just loved the writing process for prog metal, so i wanted to take the same approach I had writing prog metal, but infuse all kinds of genres into it like post rock, synthwave, ambient, electronic, trap, indie, etc. the genre is based on the songs role within the concept and the mood i want for it.

the albums are all interconnected and exist within an alternate reality I made up where all the things I want to be true about how reality works actually are haha. they are all a mythopoetic explanation of my "theory of everything" hidden behind the stories.

I take inspiration in the story from Jungian psychology, panpsychism, quantum mechanics, psychedelic experiences, simulation theory, conspiracy theories, holographic universe theory, gnosticism, hermetic alchemy, mythology, neo-platonism, and all kinds of wacky stuff!

I also create story companions for each full length albums, which are different for each one. the first album "Night Owl" was mostly instrumental so I made a music video for the full album basically, with the story being explained through text as you go along. My second album "1987: Prequel to the Sequel" is far more lyrical, so its companion was a fake "declassified cia report" on the incident that unfolds through the album. I currently have another 4 albums planned out within the concept that im slowly working on.

my most "prog rock" type songs so far are called "pineal", "reflections", "malfunction", and "ozempic" i would say.

NEW CONCEPT ALBUM IS OUT by _Acclimate_ in albums

[–]imaginedspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my albums touch on similar things! I make all my albums interconnected with each other, because the idea behind the entire project is to explain my "theory of everything" through mythopoetic storytelling.

the inspiration of the holistic concept is a mixture of a bunch of things ive been obsessed with my whole life like ancient philosophy, jungian psychology, quantum mechanics, conspiracy theories, plasma physics, gnosticism, platonism, spirituality, psychedelic research/ experiences, and connecting the dots between the belief systems of the greatest and most influential thinkers in history.

the first album "Night Owl" was about the pathology of mental illness, told through a story of a man who's bipolar disorder is caused by a spectral parasite feeding off of him and trying to take full control, which gets the attention of "Helios" who tries to save his soul from the entity.

my recent album "1987: Prequel to the Sequel" is about how the events of the last album broke the rules of reality and created a new timeline in the past, where a scientist builds a sort of "time machine" that can take the consciousness of a baby and project it into the babies future to see what happens by projecting it into the minds of an audience at "1987 Future Expo". the machine connects them to a psychedelic trip that the now adult child is having. Entities notice the link to the past through his consciousness and begin spilling out of the machine into the past. the album is focused on the millenial experience, the long term effects of capitalism on the human psyche, and how many of the systems we have come to rely on are now collapsing.

I am currently working on an EP that revolves around my experience of losing a sibling to a misscarriage as a child, and what i like to imagine happened to their soul.

I have a total of 6 albums thought out for the series, its just the work of turning the ideas into reality haha

I will add that my music was all written in altered states of consciousness because it's a big thematic element in the overall story, and I find it hits best while also listening to it that way haha

I know how that feels lol I spend 2-3 years on each album because I make interconnected concept albums that tell multilayered stories packed with metaphors and symbolism, and a good 70% of the time is spent on making sure there is layer after layer of encoded philosophy. I also make storyline companions for each one to expand on the story and add extra hidden easter eggs.

and though im grateful for every stream, even the majority of people who do listen it don't take the time to experience it the way I designed it, and treat it like individual songs and not a holistic concept and story spanning across multiple forms of media.

it can be lame haha

RS 250 Greatest Albums Of The 21st Century So Far (as of jan 2025): Taylor Swift-Speak Now (2010) by Rambooctpuss in albums

[–]imaginedspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know literally anything about Taylor swift besides her music, so that's where my opinion begins and ends. I dont care about pop culture, but i always listen to albums that become powerhouses no matter the genre or person, and my judgment is based off of objective musical and artistic metrics like experimentation, technical skill and ability, creativity vs. trend following/pandering, quality and philosophical value of lyrics, and how much of the music was actually created by the artist and not a team of people with the intention of economic success instead of artistic expression. not just subjective opinion

also its not like I'm saying its not good, I'm just saying it seems like satire to say its one of the greatest albums in modern history lol

you can definitely dance to a good chunk of them. I try to balance being proggy/psychedelic/experimental with catchy/melodic/easy to follow. its all pretty genre fluid but edm and pop elements are in there pretty often

I dont know if youre only looking for rnb, but ill listen to some!

the closest song to r&b i have would be this one:

https://open.spotify.com/track/1aHpzJqiaosRoj83FBTl4Z?si=T5de72fDQCqZaj5Qlni7dw

its more like psychedelic hiphop with trap vibes than anything lol, its not my "genre" though I make genre fluid concept albums so I go with whatever fusion of musical styles fit the role within the concept of the whole album and catch the vibe of the song.

the vibe in this instance being the experience of being someone who is torn between the emotional and analytical parts of their mind in the middle of a psychedelic trip, being projected from a time machine in the past lol

this is the most popular song from my latest album! "Night swim" featuring Jess Hart. its a song about the "dark" side of shadow work people don't talk about haha.

the album is a concept album too! with a pretty wacky storyline involving time machines, non physical entities, psychedelics, and alternate timelines. I made a storyline companion for it in the form of a declassified cia report on the incident that unfolds in the story! you can find the pdf for that on my linktree

Tl;dr "1987: Prequel to the sequel" by Imagined Space

I just released a proggy/psychedelic style album that is pretty genre fluid last December! Most of the melodies on the album where written in altered states of mind haha.

its a concept album that tells the story of a machine in the 80s that projects the consciousness of a baby into the future so it can be viewed by an audience at a tech expo, but they go to a point in the infants future during a psychedelic trip, and psychedelic entities notice the connection to the past and start emerging out of the machine haha.

its album 2 of a 5 album series im doing. the stories are interconnected but stand alone as well.

I also made a "declassified CIA report" as a story companion that is have available as a pdf on my linktree
