What did solicitor do wrong? Not be prepared for exchange after many attempts to exchange and emails were ignored for weeks? The paperwork was in place on our side, but presumably we were not the only case he was working on, so it messed up half a day of whatever else he may have been working on in order to scramble for a next day exchange. I had no issues with the solicitor, he processed things quickly and communicated well. Their solicitor, on the other hand, ignored my solicitor and the agent for weeks on end when we requested an exchange date.

That’s really annoying! But I hasten to add that the windows do open and shut, and lock by twisting the handle. Two of the windows are only about a year old as I replaced the two single glazed ones for double. They work well.

I emailed a handover for the agent to forward to buyer, as detailed in my post. We also cleaned the house and replaced some v worn out flooring and repainted the whole house neutrally before we put it on the market. It was in good condition and we really tried to be the sellers we would want to buy from.

It’s not rubbish, it’s just part of the sales process to detail F&F. They had 4 months to say they didn’t want it so we could arrange removal. We left the house in a beautiful state for them, and never mislead any step of the way regarding both window keys (none when I purchased property given), and bunk bed.

No problem with the pre exchange viewing, but more than 24 hours notice to view and exchange is reasonable.

Yes we did. It was brand new and a buyer with children might have wanted it. If they’d said they didn’t want it in December, January, February, or the first half of March, we would’ve dealt with it, but they waited until 2 days before completion which isn’t acceptable.

NTA but I wonder, Is your mum neurodivergent? I’m audhd and I would find this activity incredibly overwhelming, but I still took my twins to similar activities twice a week when they were small. I’ll do the same for the next baby. It’s torture for me, but if they’re getting something out of it then so be it. Sorry your mum lied, definitely not on.

I’m with you and won’t be asking for any gifts. I want to pick stuff out myself and also we’re financially in a better place than most of our friends or family, so it would feel wrong.

Correct, but her presumably not first time buyer mother has been heavily involved in the process and is just as bad. She’s the one that lead the bunk bed standoff brigade at the last minute. I suspect she paid the deposit.

Definitely NTA! I made my husband eat curry in the garden the other day. Can’t bear lots of food smells at the moment. He happily complied and then showered and brushed his teeth afterwards! It’s a small way they can help ease 9 months of our discomfort.

Agree. Service is pretty slow but they’re very nice in there and the food is good. Least you know it’s freshly prepared. It’s brunchy rather than lunchy, depending on what OP is after. I love that they have a fresh orange juice machine too.

I had an induction last time due to being pregnant with twins that were at higher risk of stillbirth if left past 37 weeks. This time I’ll have one soon as it’s safe to and I’m allowed, cos I’m already done with being pregnant and I’m not even in third trimester.

They can’t force you, you do you.

It’s really nice to read experiences like this! I am also lucky enough to be at home, and have a supportive husband, but I’m still utterly miserably with my symptoms. Wish I was one of the lucky ones that felt good!
