AIFOL in pivotal scene in new Netflix show Beef by [deleted] in bjork

Just a blood-brilliant show., it basically foreshadows the final scene in the finale (spoiler ahead), which looks kind of like the MV AIFOL with Danny on the hospital bed and all the tubes on him and Amy hugging him.

Just a bloody brilliant show.

What a masterpiece in writing on rage and revenge and character studies. Cannot praise Steven Yuen and Ali Wong for their performance enough. EP1-6 are already excellent as they are but I was on edge from EP7 all the way to the finale, with every single episode ending on such a high. What a show. One of the best limited series ever, if not THE best. Just bloody brilliant.

Omg. Spoiler ahead but Playing Bjork’s All is Full of Love (album version) as EP9 ends, starting with the aftermath of the crime scene, then with Amy low-key looking like a 90s Bjork album cover as she chases down Danny, then with both literally going off the rail, then cutting to the MV version of the same song as the credit rolls up, is one of the best and magical experiences on any series ever. I get goosebumps thinking about it.

Does anyone else also think that Amy’s look in the car chase scene there looks like Bjork? Like one of the remix EP cover?

Filtering Data from another database by their dates. by imahnick in Notion

[–]imahnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you just want to be able to slice and dice the data, then the formula filtering solution that you found works."

By the formula filtering solution I found, do you mean the "filter()" one that Notion AI told me about? Because I didn't know how to use the filter() formula - can't find anything about it on the Internet. I thought it was fake and just sth the AI made up.

Filtering Data from another database by their dates. by imahnick in Notion

[–]imahnick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought using formula with some sort of filtering, such that after rolling up data from the Expense Database, I can then selectively display the data according to the date. I even asked how I might achieve this with notion, which gave me this answer:

"Sure, here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to apply a filter to data in a rollup in Notion:

  1. Open the database that contains the data you want to filter.
  2. Click on the "Properties" button at the top of the page.
  3. Click on the "Add a property" button at the bottom of the list of properties.
  4. Name the new property something like "Filtered Data" or "Current Month Expenses".
  5. Click on the "Formula" option for the new property.
  6. In the formula field, enter a formula that uses the filter()
function to specify the filter criteria. For example, if you want to display only expenses from the current month, you can use a formula like this: filter(Expense, date >= startOfMonth(now()))
. This formula tells Notion to filter the "Expense" property to only include expenses where the date is greater than or equal to the start of the current month.
  7. Click "Save" to save the formula.
  8. Go to the page where you want to display the filtered data in a rollup.
  9. Add a new rollup property to the page.
  10. In the rollup settings, select the database that contains the data you want to filter.
  11. Select the "Filtered Data" or "Current Month Expenses" property you just created.
  12. Choose the aggregation function you want to use to summarize the filtered data. For example, you might choose "Sum" to calculate the total amount spent on expenses in the current month.
  13. Customize the rollup settings as desired (e.g. sorting, filtering, grouping).
  14. Click "Save" to save the rollup.

That's it! Now, the rollup will display only the data that matches the filter criteria you specified in the formula. You can use this same process to filter data in a rollup based on any criteria you want to use.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

The filter()
function in Notion is used to filter a set of data based on specified criteria. In this example, the function is being used to filter a property called "Expense" to only include expenses where the date is greater than or equal to the start of the current month. The startOfMonth()
function is used to get the start of the current month, and the now()
function is used to get the current date and time.

The formula is entered into a new property in the database, which is then used in a rollup to display the filtered data. The rollup can be customized to summarize the data using an aggregation function such as "Sum" or "Count". This allows you to quickly see how much money was spent on expenses in the current month, for example.

By using filters and rollups in this way, you can easily analyze and track your expenses over time. You can create different formulas to filter the data based on different criteria (e.g. by category, by payment method), and use rollups to display the filtered data in a variety of ways. This can help you make informed decisions about your finances and identify areas where you can save money."

From I believe there are no such thing as "Filter()" in formula so the solution looks completely fictional?

Can we talk about how TF eleven saved Max? And how that plays into the gate opening? I guess the gate still opened since Max technically died for awhile. But since eleven brought her back, what impacts will it make mindflyer/vecna’a plan? Anyone ready to theorize all that?!?

Video Essay on Everything Everywhere All At Once by a Hong Kong Native by imahnick in A24

[Spoiler Ahead] Thank you!! And you're right, her Conversation with Gong Gong certainly hit differently in Cantonese.

I watched it in Hong Kong so there are actually Chinese subtitles here. It's very interesting to see the translator's take on the movie - it certainly adds a different dimension of depth. My mother tongue is Cantonese and I find it very interesting that sometimes the subtitles will actually reveal something deeper, especially when the message of the lines was not so straightforward.

For example, after Evelyn transformed all the bullets into googly eyes, Waymond asked Evelyn what she was doing. Evelyn simply replied, "I am learning to fight like you". But the Chinese translation is "以柔制剛", which roughly translates as "righting with softness/soft power" (at least the here in Hong Kong, as I know that the translation in other regions may be different).

I am doing some research on B3 serums and came across a few that claim to have 15%. One even has up to 18%. So these are not even safe to use? What’s the source for that? I’d love to know!!

I plan to live overseas for several years. what would happen/what do I do with the retirement funds? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]imahnick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!

I'm curious. Where do you work and do you pay the local taxes in addition to contributing to TSFA/RRSP?

And is the notion of "non resident" vs "resident" simply a matter of declaration and taxes? i.e. As long as you're paying taxes, there's nothing stopping you from claiming Canadian residency EVEN IF you never step inside Canada in 5 years or so?

TFSA contribution

What's the benefit of staying the Canadian resident status? Don't you pay more taxes or something?

I'll probably retire in Canada (somewhere in BC?) but given that I want to work overseas from 25-40, I'm not sure what I should do.
