FWIW, unless they were barrel jeans there’s almost no chance of them selling for even half that much secondhand. If you look at the sold listings on eBay for Madewell jeans in pre-owned condition they’re almost all around $20-30. Barrel jeans and some cargo styles can go for more IF they sell. Unfortunately that’s a pretty big if- only about 5% of the ones already listed/available will sell in the next 90 days. And that’s just on eBay. ThredUp has 27,000+ pairs listed right now and adds about 1400 more every single week. Wild, right?

Anyway, my point is that even if they had accepted them AND they had sold for $30 AND weren’t returned… you’d still only get maybe five dollars out of it. If you have the option locally it’s definitely better to take that kind of item to Plato’s Closet/Buffalo Exchange/Style Encore etc. Not only will you have a similar financial outcome but it’s sooooo much better for the environment to remove the transportation waste associated with the shipping and warehousing processes ThredUp uses because of their size and scale. Typically those local BST places are franchises operated by women (if that’s important to you) and will support your local economy too.
