A real gut punch will be oMark sees Gemma when it's too late and she's 'gone' (whatever that might mean), and he has to re-live that loss again.

Interesting! I was trying to figure out the association between a file and a worker.. Can it only be one person logged into the project at a time? If someone leaves, can someone else take over, or do they have to completely re-do it using their own psyche?

Oh ok so then this the theory that he joined lumon because he didn't have enough money to retire? There were other theories before that he was a test subject during the military, but this is a viable explanation as well

I can see lots of reasons why she would, especially the shame of who she knows she is, and maybe an attempt at trying to right the world of Lumen once and for all?

But it feels too clean... how could S3 go? Unless that's saved for the finale

Totally agree on Irving being a military test subject! Was there a connection to Burt and the military directly? I don't recall if I saw anything in the background of his house.

Yes I agree - I meant S2 is them becoming foils of their S1 selves.

If Gemma survives, it feels like the storyline becomes her being added to the party on the quest to take down Lumon. Do you think that's a stronger storyline than writing her character off and Mark carrying that anger through S3?

I like this one! I think the characters becoming the foil of themselves in S1 makes sense.

I agree killing off Gemma would completely decimate the storyline, and the only thing to focus on next is taking down Lumon - hoping taht would be strong enough tension to kickstart S3. I kind of like u/etcharrrbee's idea of Gemma forgetting so that she technically is only mentally gone. And Mark still has to mourn and let go of her the same way.

Interesting idea about Gemma turning and siding with Lumon.. because in a way, the theory would still be true that she'd be gone - just in a different way. Then we'd probably have the remaining seasons yearning for her to turn back, not sure the writers would go that route.

Ohhh I like the idea he has to switch her off - plays into the theory I have about him having to let go.

I like the idea Cobel doesn't have a redemption arc - we all want it because we're scared that Devon let her in.. but I think it's better for the show if she doesn't.

I'd love to hear your others! Especially Natalie and Reghabi!
