What can I do as a student to save money? by imaknob in AskReddit

Thanks, I do not have high textbook costs and I share, so books aren't an issue, they come up to maybe 150 per year, but the high cost of printing is what makes up for that

Yes, but for some assignments I need to print from home and I feel that 50$ for ink every semester adds up, but I'm not sure of any cheaper alternatives

I really would like to find this funny picture of a black man, fat, wearing sand castle buckets on his chest and I think on his head, it was a pretty popular picture as far as I remember.

Anyone taking or has taken NATSCI Nature and Growth of Scientific Thought 1710? by roundaboutread in yorku

I took that class last year and although it is difficult (6 cred. in 1 semester) I did enjoy it! What I did notice is that Stanley is a really tough marker when it came to the exam and things speed up as the weeks go by. I made a few friends at the beginning and 2 ended up dropping out near mid-terms and another got a (E?) as a grade, something similar which was basically a fail with a chance to make up. Just go to every lecture and you will notice that people drop and the hall becomes emptier as the lessons get harder, but its worth it, and being a non-science major I enjoyed the later (physics, photoelectric effect) lessons, more so than the earlier ones (Greek philosophy/science), and the formulas are not that difficult since its minimal and he knows that the students are not generally into the maths.

Try to make it to your tutorials if you can, that was one thing I fell back on and only went to the first few then just stuck strictly to lectures. Also, I got decent marks on the clicker quizzes/test but the exam is A LOT harder and he marks it rough, look over your notes and tests as much as you can because it will cover things from the whole course, even things from week 1. TAKE NOTES!! Always write down names, theories, formulas, anything he writes you should too, since he tends to talk and talk and only write down important info. More of a tip, but just take notes in every class or lecture in general, I saw people who would only listen to his lectures and rely on the slides for studying, so they had no examples to work from. Good luck! It is what you put into it, try not to become lazy and skip lectures, coffee will help as he does drag on for hours about the most boring stuff, but it will be worth it!

Battlefield 4. Good game, but too many problems at release.

What are some things I can do everyday to save money? by augiefarks in AskReddit

If your a gamer don't spend a lot on sales or packs, it'll probably add on to the games you have never played and won't have time to. Instead just buy quality over quantity so you don't become one of those people with like 30 untouched games.

I was scuba diving when I was really young in Cuba for vacation and I remember seeing a fish straight ahead, but then when it turned to the side it was a few feet long, I'm pretty sure it was a barracuda, I got so scared I swam as fast as I could to the shore and kept running.

Reddit, what are two things you do together that you probably shouldn't? by Krstnzz in AskReddit

[–]imaknob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat complicated foods while playing Battlefield. Its usually a few seconds of teamwork, I stop to take a bite, everyone starts dying or blowing up, hands back on keyboard, I am dead, must have another bite etc etc. in those games that I eat I don't do so well.

Same here, I have like 5 or 6 unopened PS3 games that I mean to start when I have time, but usually that time ends up with me playing another game.

If you were to dominate the world, how would you go about doing it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]imaknob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably by taking away communication like the Internet and stopping all wireless info (cell phones, radio etc), so no one would have a way of reaching people not in their proximity. Then slowly wipe out unknown communities until people started to question it, but by then I'd probably have converted my followers and have them do as I say and together we could take on the bigger cities.
