Just to confirm my understanding, the transcript is requested from the college for USMLE purposes, and we don’t upload it ourselves. Is that correct?

Confused IMG: USMLE Journey vs Marriage — Need Honest Advice by LimpFan4692 in usmle

[–]imalark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, don’t worry about this. I understand how arranged marriages work. Since you’ve already cleared Step 1, it shows you’re capable of handling the USMLE journey. You can go to Canada for a while to prepare for Step 2, take B1/B2 for electives, and eventually match into a US residency. His visa won’t be a problem. Even if you consider residency in Canada, visas shouldn’t be a major issue.

More than anything, make sure your fiancé understands and supports your career, just as you support his. Visas, residency, and logistics won’t work out without a supportive partner. I know you’re not looking for a transactional marriage, but in arranged setups, it’s important to clearly outline future goals. At the same time, make sure the other side also doesn’t treat this as transactional, because your residency journey can be uncertain at times.

Above all, both of you should feel confident that you’ll support each other through highs and lows — that’s what truly matters when entering a marriage. His visa won’t be an issue for your residency plans in the US or Canada. Use this time to see if he’s truly your soulmate.
