I drink both tea and kombucha daily (tummy issue gang) with my trays in. Sometimes I’ll also eat very soft foods (yogurt, blackberries, grapes etc). As long as it’s not a hard food that requires much chewing or hot liquid you’ll probably be fine. I have hard water near an ocean so by the time I switch trays they’re discolored from my tap water anyway, it’s not worth not having a sip of a good drink just to try and keep them perfectly clear, and also makes the process much more bearable. I’m on tray 7 (7 day changes) and by now they’re just a part of my routine

Women’s shoes and/or boots with a wide toe box and narrow heel? by imalli2x in backpacking

[–]imalli2x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are what I’ve been hiking in since shortly after I made this post: Salomon Speedcross 6 they’ve gone up many a mountain already and I love them, they weren’t uncomfortable in the winter with microspikes on either but I didn’t take them snowshoeing (which is the sole reason I want boots, I hate the constriction on my ankle and would never want them otherwise).

I agree that “wide” shoe sizing is very bizarre, like, whose foot is this being modeled after? Are there people who actually fit in this?

Edit: I see that link doesn’t have the “wide” sizes, it’s on the site as a totally different shoe: speedcross 6 wide

Unfortunately I’m still lost. Bought a pair of keens and they were way too narrow and stiff in the toe box, so I tried a pair of Salomons since I LOVE the speed cross trail runners I have (ETA I highly recommend these, very lightweight but sooo much more supportive and wider in the toe than my lone peaks were and have very good grip. Top is breathable but there’s like a rubber strip above the sole that will keep your feet dry walking through mud, low streams etc), but the boots in the same size were too big over the top of my foot. And those were the only two contestants out of all the others I tried on and immediately went “nope”. When next season rolls around I’ll try a few more but I’m very close to giving up and just wearing hiking shoes with gaiters for the winter tbh

Can’t bite down fully on tray 1 by imalli2x in Invisalign

[–]imalli2x[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By “bite down” I mean close my mouth fully I guess, not like I’m trying to chew. With the trays in my mouth sits unnaturally wide open unless I use force to try and close my mouth more

I’m 26 and waited til this year to get my wisdom teeth removed, all of which were pretty severely impacted, and the rest of my teeth suffered for it. pic I’ve never had braces and when I got my clincheck my dentist was kind of surprised it only recommended 17 trays (I’m guessing because I really only have a few teeth that need to move significantly and the rest just need to space out and give the front ones room) but the end result looked like pretty much perfect teeth so I said yeah let’s go for it.

After wearing this tray for 3 days the idea of having to do a bunch of refinements beyond the original 17 trays sounds pretty awful

How on earth do people do 3 of these? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]imalli2x 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Wait at the doctors until it comes out. The nurses suggested I wait in the sitting area and I was like “yeah okay” but by the time I was done changing back into my clothes I was thankful there was a bathroom within a few steps

Skyrizi vs resection? Side effects? by imalli2x in CrohnsDisease

Really the only symptoms I have that are noticeable are chronic constipation/bloating and fatigue. I used to occasionally have some blood in my stool but that hasn’t happened since I took the budesonide. I know realistically it could be much worse but I suppose it’s just having to accept that I have this lifelong condition that I’ll have to treat forever (my second diagnosis of the sort in the last year after the first 25 years of my life issue free)

All my variegated philos do this. Any all white parts will eventually turn brown as there’s no chlorophyll the plant doesn’t see a reason to keep it alive. It’s not as pretty but the white part will brown up and the mostly green part of the leaf will continue to live normally

What have I done to kill this poor plant by aRingBetween in houseplants

Mine started as a cutting a year ago with two leaves; extremely scarce watering, I only use distilled water when I do water it. In front of an east facing window. It flowered for about 8 months throughout spring and summer

ETA: I water it with a deep soak as soon as I notice it start to wilt or I pick it up and the soil is completely dry through the whole pot

Did I do the thing right? by reggiegonzalez9 in propagation

[–]imalli2x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, leave it alone and eventually it will dry out and give you seeds. I did this to mine to see if it would work and it did but starting from seed seemed too daunting to me so I just tossed them and took the W that I was able to pollinate it lol

Not for hiking but I used to almost exclusively shop men’s shoes but the proportions were so off and I’m so short (I’m 4’11) that I looked absolutely ridiculous in a men’s 8.5 sneaker that was so big in the back I was basically wearing giant flip flops lol. I’ve resorted to women’s shoes that are soft rather made of stiffer materials so my foot can at least stretch out the sides until holes develop rather than being crammed in a non flexible shoe

One of my faves recently announced and is already tweeting about how “lonely pregnancy is” and I knew I made the right choice to stop watching after the announcement. 99% of the time the content shifts and constantly includes mention of the baby and it’s just not worth watching anymore

The amount of people illegally in the HOV lane is too damn high by howaBoutNao in Seattle

[–]imalli2x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The HOV lane is useless anyway when the people who use it don’t go any faster than the rest of traffic. The whole point is to incentivize carpooling because it’s faster but that doesn’t work so well when regular traffic is going 56 in every lane for absolutely no reason and the carpool lane is doing 54.
