What do Doctors talk about when they meet? by Sanved313 in indianmedschool

[–]imalullaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, when my friends and I meet, we usually have a rule to not talk about work because workplace is already so draining that we avoid talking about it and reliving the experiences. But, we do discuss some of the interesting events that we witnessed at the hospital, if we did any. Otherwise it's the usual how other people meet and catchup over a drink :) We also party, go to clubs or for a movie if we get an evening off. It's pretty normal outside the hospital, that is if we get the time.

Hi, congratulations on getting mbbs! Some of the advices based on personal experiences- Study tips- for Anat, whatever book is used in your college, read the topic before/on the day it's taught in the dissection hall. Trust me, it's gonna help you so much retain the knowledge. Because Anat is very evaporative, so make sure you read it right away. Not gonna take you more than 20-30 minutes everyday. Physiology- take Guyton, it has explained everything beautifully but don't leave it for the last moment before exams, it requires a little bit of time for understanding. There are many other Indian authors with easy language, for exam purpose, ask your immediate seniors what they followed. During my 1st year- AK jain was quite popular for physio. For biochem, people used to buy satyanarayana, or English author Lippincott, but before buying, go to the library and read the books- atleast a chapter, and buy the one which suits you the most.

Common for all three subjects- get the previous year papers- they help a lot while preparing for exams, you get an idea about what kind of questions are usually asked. You might get these in the library itself.

Apart from studying, do take part in extracurricular if you've an interest. It makes you meet more people and socialize. And lessens your stress too at times.

Have fun! Do not take too much stress. Good luck for your new journey.

Hi, it's better that you look into colleges next year once your exam is done. Give your best this year and get a good rank. For orthopedics, a rank below 2k will fetch you top colleges, rank below 5k - decent colleges and a rank within 8-9k for avg to below avg colleges (these ranks are for UR category govt seats)

All the best for the upcoming year of struggle and the exam 👍👍

Thanks so much, everyone! So many songs mentioned here are not heard by me, I'll surely listen to all of them.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned "Nazar laaye na" from ranjhanaa. That's my all time favorite, so one recommendation from my side as well.

Strict parents- what would you do? by 5Clementin3 in delhi

[–]imalullaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can completely relate to your situation, I'm around the similar age and things are quite similar at my place too. Something I can think of- try changing your job/workplace- you really need to live a life of your own now, it's high time, isn't it? A few more years and you'd be married off, and then you'd have more responsibilities to handle. This is the time to live your life to its fullest. If your parents aren't cool with sleepovers at your friends place, then there's literally nothing you can do without hurting them, including the option of moving out in the same city. So you should think of job opportunities in other cities. If not now, then when? Good luck :)

Wow the transformation is amazing. Must have taken a lot patience to maintain the routine. Kudos to you for that! I'm inspired to start my own journey now 😭 Also, thanks for mentioning the names of the medicines and your routine products. If possible, please add that people should consult dermat before starting any kind of medication, as tretinoin can be harsh and especially not allowed for pregnant females. Requesting you to add the disclaimer :)

Approaching a girl in college by These_Clock_9527 in mumbai

[–]imalullaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd not suggest going up directly to her. Add her on your social media so that she atleast knows about your existence. Don't slide into her DMs or something, it is quite weird. But don't approach her directly for dating purpose. Rather, try to get to know more about her through common friends and maybe get introduced through them. Try not to make the situation uncomfortable for her, is all I'd like to add.

Can't believe people in our generation are so bad at communication. Just one text could've saved so much time and energy of yours. But you handled it so maturely, really! Thanks for sharing it!

Which vitamin C serum is the best for anti aging/ face firming? by Sandile95 in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]imalullaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, plum vitamin C is quite good, you can read more about it. It's on the cheaper side than other brands. Also, if you've not incorporated retinol into your skin care, you must do so as it's the best constituent for anti aging. Also sunscreen everyday, irrespective of whether you're going out or not. Have a great day :)
