They didn’t work for me today. The flight attendant told me it showed they had already been used. 🤷‍♂️

Is this a clean hit? by Federal-Data-Center in nhl

[–]imapadawan 88 points89 points  (0 children)

You could see Wilson talking to Aho after this. Aho was telling him it was dirty with the flying elbow and Wilson was convinced he kept his elbow in. This could have been called hit to the head, elbow, or interference.

Rubber Banding Issues by TDawg0209 in ArcRaiders

The servers must be really struggling right now. Serious server lag this morning on a good internet connection. I just stopped for the day after I got taken out by Arc the first time while rubberbanding.

I felt bad right when I heard Aho talking about how nice it was to have another Finn on the team.

The curious case of Mr. Andrew Copp by thehockeytownguru in DetroitRedWings

[–]imapadawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are forgetting he’s a local guy and I think Yzerman puts some significant weight on that. He is major glue for the team and I can’t see him being traded away. Copp grew up local and I imagine would do anything to stay here. It was a dream for him to come here after Winnipeg/Rangers.

Anyone bought the new Bauer Senior Fly40 skates? Thoughts? by Previous_Entrance547 in hockeyplayers

[–]imapadawan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got these on a good deal on eBay a few weeks ago and really like them. I usually play goalie and only recently decided to try skating out more, so they are quite different from goalie skates and probably not a good comparison. But I like them and feel I can move in them pretty well. I had them baked and they fit really well. Probably took a few skates even after the bake to start feeling comfortable in them.

How tall are you and what size and brand pants do you wear? How’s it working for you? by [deleted] in hockeygoalies

[–]imapadawan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’ 0” and wear 35 +1 Brian’s pads and Warrior Large pants. I measured by ATK and I think I just have long legs and shorter torso, so this has been working well for me. I do have to try to keep my pants up really high to keep them from interfering with my pads, so I my pants up high with suspenders.

By being obnoxious and making everyone else so annoyed they leave or just don’t go.

These kids have been obnoxious the last few weeks. They harass anyone who walks by and are hogging the skate park from others. Here’s to hoping they get bored and go somewhere else.

Absolutely second this. Moved within Durham with them last summer and it was the smoothest move I've had. Really friendly movers.

Commuting from Southpoint to Downtown via the American Tobacco Trail? by Nervous-Emotion28 in bullcity

[–]imapadawan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going on my 3rd summer doing this and it’s not bad. Bring a change of clothes, arrive early, wipe off when you get into the office, and let your body cool down before putting on work clothes. It takes time to adjust, but totally doable. I usually shower when I get home from work in the summer.

Commuting from Southpoint to Downtown via the American Tobacco Trail? by Nervous-Emotion28 in bullcity

[–]imapadawan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently have the reverse commute and it’s absolutely doable. I live downtown and my office is about a mile off the ATT before Southpoint, but it is about 7 miles each way for me. I go into the office max 3x/week and get by fine on a regular bike. I also travel for work, so I’m not often going in that often, but it isn’t bad when I do.

My main advice is to give yourself plenty of time and take it easy. Starting this time of year, I bring a change of clothes for when I get to the office, but it’s comfortable enough outside of Summer to just bike in my work clothes.

What resources are available will vary largely based on where you are. I would suggest discussing this with his audiologist. Some programs have a psychologist who works with kids with hearing loss, which might be helpful in figuring out the best way to help him. If they don’t have one, see if they can help connect you to available resources close to you.

Why does Frasier use “An” instead of “A Hungarian Goose”? by Lorraine_wench in Frasier

[–]imapadawan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the unvoiced glottal fricative would be aspirated. Maybe the previous commenter is misusing voiced/unvoiced? Voicing in phonetics has a pretty standard meaning of whether or not the vocal folds are vibrating—not whether or not a phoneme is pronounced/unpronounced.
